“A marvellous find in in the heart of the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

From the artistic frames at the entrance to my studio room with a king bed front and centre. You first notice how clean and wonderfully fresh everything is. This place is new, modern and well maintained. Everything just works. The bed has to be experienced to be believed. Everything speaks of clever design without overwhelming the space. The kitchenette is quite amazing for what it packs into the small space with a decent sized fridge. The television is actually mounted on a swing arm instead of just the wall so you can turn it towards your bed or the nice little two seater in the corner. The split system airconditioning unit is large, quiet and exceptional at heating the room to the desired temperature quickly. The bathroom is completely modern and efficient in a small space. The desk which sits in front of the kitchenette doubles as a kitchen bench as well as a study desk complete with phone, network ports and stylish moulded chairs. It really is quite a pleasure to stay in a room where I don't have to count the things that are absent. The sound isolation is really good as the only time I heard anything was when they closed a heavy door a little hard in the corridor.

The hotel staff were surprisingly attentive to my needs, even when the only issue I had was still plaguing me two days later. The operations manager took steps to ensure the provided solution had a backup alternative in case it did not work. They even ended up waiving charges because of the problems I experienced. This was unsolicited and is the kind of service that we miss sorely in this day and age. It prompted me to come here and post this review.

Thank you Punthill... I will be back and so will my family and friends. Marvellous place!

Room Tip: Was on 7th floor which was great.

Stayed one night here with my mum on our way to Pt Vila, not too far a walk from Central Station, large spacious room, nice little kitchenette which we didn't get to use as we only had the one night. Friendly staff, got a good deal on Wotif. Would definitely stay here again and will check out their properties in other cities.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights at the beginning of june for our honeymoon.
After a long flight from the uk we arrived about an hour early. The lady on the check in desk was very friendly and extremely helpful, pointing us in the right direction of where to go and what to see.
We were travelling the east coast of oz and had already collected our campervan. It was too high to park in the actual carpark but we were allowed to park it just inside the barrier for free too.
The room was beautiful, with modern decor and an amazing shower which was well needed after our long flight. Also I think it had the most comfiest bed ive ever slept in.
Tea and coffee were available in the room with tv with freeview. Th hotels facilities were excellent too with gym and gorgeous pool, even though we didnt get the opportunity to use them.
Its location was close to town but quiet. We absolutely loved it here and would like to say a huge thanks to the staff for making the start of our wondetful honeymoon fanstastic.

I was a little hesitant when we pulled up to the Punthill but once we got to the room we were both very pleased! We stayed in a studio with a kitchenette which was perfect for us. The kitchen even had a little dishwasher and everything else we needed. It looks as if the inside has been recently renovated and looked very new and clean inside the room. It had a nice sized wall mounted flat screen TV that can swivel around so you can watch it from any spot within the unit. There is a grocery store within walking distance for those staying long enough to pick up groceries. There was also a decent Indian Food place that delivers here although I can't recall the name of the place. Parking was pricey and you should inquire about this ahead of time to avoid any surprises! The train is very close too if you want to avoid a car rental. Overall though it was a great stay in a nice hotel and we would definitely stay here again.

A great boutique hotel in Brisbane, great location, the room was clean and very funky. Beds were comfortable and the kitchenette a perfect size. Staff were exceptional and nothing was too much bother. Hired bikes through the hotel, perfect for heading to the Galleries and restaurants at Southbank. We will be back.

My wife and I stayed here on our recent stay in Brisbane. We decided to stay here based on the recent trip advisor reviews. Check in was friendly and professional. The rooms are large and the king size bed is comfy and devine. We also liked the fact it had an outside balcony so fresh air is available rather than being trapped in air con. It also has a kitchenette which is much more than your average hotel.

There were a few things that could be improved though starting with that lift. On one occasion we waited over 10 minutes for it to make it to the ground floor. Other times during our 3 night stay it took over 5 minutes to make it to our floor once called. The gym that is advertised is three machines consisting of a domestic style bike, treadmill and multi weights set out beside the pool. Under cover but open air. Okay this time of the year but would be a bit hot during summer. An air con inside gym would have been a better idea. It was also pouring rain whilst we were here and no umbrellas were available. Management said they had three but were never returned. We were not impressed getting soaked walking the 15 min trek to the Brisbane CBD. A few $30 umbrellas would be a fantastic idea. Most other hotels have them a small touch but far worth it? The bathrooms are also small and pokey.

Overall they have done an excellent job but just need to fix a few of the small things.

Room Tip: Ask for higher CBD facing floor or you will look into next doors roof

Dear Brendan H,
Thank you for taking the time to provide your comments on Punthill Brisbane.
Our team at the property will be thrilled to read that you enjoyed the service and apartments.
We have found that guests absolutely love the open-air gym but unfortunately occasionally there may be someone who prefers to be indoors.
The umbrella "store" has now been replaced. We have several large Punthill umbrellas available.
The bathrooms are smallish but we think beautifully appointed, and as you say, the apartments are extremely spacious.
We do hope to welcome you back to Punthill in the future.
Kind regards,

Purchased two separate nights through Our Deals special for a very good price. Location only 10 minutes pleasant walk to CBD. Funky wall paper. Comfy bed. Very spacious studio with great set up and functional kitchenette. Large balcony is a bonus and very pleasant especially if you get high floor.Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Free parking and WiFi. Looking forward to our next trip in August

Room Tip: Recommend taxi around $10 to go to Fortitude Valley, China town for great food and entertainment
