“Pleasant surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2012 via mobile

Enjoyed breakfast here one Saturday, such a delight to find it. So unexpected given the shop front. We both enjoyed the big breakfast which lived up to its name. The pork sausages were delicious. The service was great and I loved the decor in the rear courtyard. There was a range of art pieces for sale which melded well with the eclectic furnishings and cruisy music. Will be back.

“Jam Jar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

The courtyard has an interesting mix of decor, mainly sourced from second hand materials, very much influenced by the alternative style that West End is known for. Cosy atmosphere with tasty entrees, although some of the entree items where off the menu.

The mains were nice, I had the mussels in an Asian style with yummy sour dough bread and my friend had the risotto with beet root and other yummy bits.

“Interesting hidden gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

A rather grungy looking West End shop front leads back into a very industrial / graffiti decorated but funky restaurant. Interesting range of tapas style dishes, too many good choices to select from. Great food, friendly helpful staff. Well priced. It's only real weak point is that the meals lack a certain subtlety of sophistication in their overall flavours.

“Jam Jar - Great Fun and Great Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

This was a really fun and interesting restaurant tucked away slap bang in the middle of West End. The food was really interesting with fantastic flavours. I gave the spanish style croquettes a huge wrap placing them on par with my Abuelas (Grandmothers) cooking. The outstanding thing was the amazing side dressings that went with the croquettes, that lifted them to another taste level. We will all be back as soon as we can with a bigger group of foodies!

“Great ambience, delicious food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2012 via mobile

Visited Jam Jar for my sister's birthday for lunch. On weekends the breakfast menu is available all day so there was a large selection of food available. The location and ambience was lovely - quintessentially 'west end'. There was a small delay on food but the head waitress came and informed us of this which was much appreciated. Would definitely go back!
