Actually i stayed at Brisbane YHA for three night, i took part the BBQ event organized by YHA, it is a extremely good experience for me. Good View, Good Staff, Good backpackers..

Moreover, i would like to praise a Asian staff, Charles. He can speak English & Mandarin, and also know Cantonese. Wow~~ He is so friendly and helpful. He helped me & my friend so much!

Great place to stay, with such a close proximity to the CBD of Brisbane and south bank it makes brilliant sense. No breakfast is included but the facilities are very good, clean and staff friendly. They even have a pub restaurant on the premises which serves very decent food.

Well worth it

This is by far the best hostel in Brisbane, great location, staff are very welcoming and helpful we stayed in a private room and it was great! The best place to meet new people and just relax and have a ball. If your backpacking in Brisbane this is definitely the place to stay. And just down the road is a backpacker recruitment place that will help you get a job.

This hostel is more like a hotel. We stayed in a double room which was clean & spacious. Double glazing meant little outside noise disturbed us despite close proximity to the railway track. We arrived early and the staff where extremely helpful, sorted us out with a locker for our luggage, let us use all the facilities & ensured our room was cleaned early so we could check in early! The facilities on the top floor where brilliant, the roof top pool was well maintained. Only criticism I would have is the bathrooms could do with a refit but they where still clean & served its purpose. Overall great experience - will defiantly stay here & with YHA again.

Stayed one night due to early flight next morning. We love Brisbane and find this location great for most things. Room cheap while still being modern and comfortable. Floor felt a little dirty though. We had ensuite room and bathroom was clean and adequate. We were warned on check in about trains as we were in back corner of the building near main line. Didn't bother us although it was loud. We like trains. If you don't,make that known. WIFI was good value at $5.00 unlimited for 24 hours but did not reach our room. If this is important to you stay closer to the reception complex. Grab a go-card from the transport centre for $5.00 and loaded money on there for sightseeing. Train from transit centre to South Brisbane, 2 hour ferry ride on quick cat, track back to transit centre for about $8.00. Awesome. Train also takes you to theme parks (with shuttle bus from station to parks free). Restaurant was great value. Jug of beer, two wines, massive burger and wedges $36.00 during happy hour. Will definitely use again!!!

I was travelling on my own and the place was fine, I arrived in the early hours of the morning and they have a 24hr reception which is great. The beds aren't great but they aren't awful either, I should also say the lockers in the room require your own padlock which is annoying as most places which have lockers in the rooms come with locks, not a big issue though.

The female showers on the third floor weren't very pleasant, there was always a lingering smell of wee (even after the cleaners had gone round) and the water pressure/temperature was a complete pain - sometimes I got the perfect shower other times I was left with a cold dribble half way through washing my hair!

Location was good, it was easy walking distance to pretty much everything, but there were lots of other hostels on the same street offering cheaper prices so if I go to Brisbane again I'd probably look into them.

The only other point I really have is that they would often make announcements at 10am to encourage people to check out on time, which is fine, but I wasn't keen on being woken up every morning.

Overall it was fine, I'm sure there's better hostels near by though so it might pay to shop around

This is a lovely city hostel. I stayed here for quite some time while working and found it really comfortable. There is a beautiful roof terrace with pool and great views over the city where you can enjoy meals and drinks.

The kitchens were always spotless and they are large enough that you can still cook when the hostel is busy.

There are also two TV lounges which is a great bonus, as well as an onsite bar/cafe and garden seating area.

The only down side is some of the rooms are near the railway tracks, so you may need your ear plugs in if you are on that side of the building and need to sleep late

Room Tip: Room 626 is one of the larger 6 shares and away from the railway
