“Right in the Heart of the City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

We stayed 3 nights over the October Long Weekend. The rooms a little small and you could also hear the noise from other guests down the hallway. The front office staff were most helpful. What we liked about Rothbury Heritage Apartments were there close proximty to central station and then a 30 minute trip to the Domestic Airport. We were also only a couple of streets away from Queen St Mall which was very handy.

Room Tip: Good value for money close to the CBD

What a wonderful old building. Our room was very spacious & well appointed. Double glazed windows provided a quiet nights sleep. Second TV allowed us to seperately watch programs.
Breakfast basket was ample but perhaps time for management to review options.
Hotel a little more away from Restaurants and Cafes than other places we have stayed.
We chose to eat at the Soffitel Hotel nearby, say 5 minute walk. Lovely food, but a tad on the expensive side.
Staff always helpful. Reception desk closes each night, although management can be reach by phone.
Loved the building charm of yesteryear. Would stay here again.

Loved it because of its character and spaciousness. All rooms and public areas are so well maintained. It was wonderful to have an efficient washing machine in our apartment! Reception were always very helpful. The position is so convenient, we didn't get the airport train because we didn't know about it, but would do so next time. So useful being near central station, the city centre and many good restaurants. We felt this hotel was excellent value and have recommended it to our friends and will definitely stay on our next visit to Brisbane.

Great position, hotel room was perfectly normal and priced at exactly what is to be expected. Only issue I ran into were the reception hours (8pm closed) and parking which means you have leave your keys with reception, meaning from 8pm-630am you are unable to access your car.
The dishwasher was broken, however it mentioned any dishes would be cleaned by the staff so not a problem there.
No wi-fi can be an issue, however as a local I just tethered my iPhone and had no problems.

My husband and I had just one night in the Rothbury but I would definitely come back. Located within easy walking distance to Queen Street Mall, the room had double glazing and the original thick walls that come with an Art Deco building, resulting in a quiet nights sleep. The original art deco style had been respected when updating the building and our double bedroom suite was roomy and well appointed. The bed was soft (too soft for me but comfortable for my husband) and the rooms were clean. Perhaps get rid of the silk flower arrangements, that add nothing to the ambience but this is just a minor quibble.
The breakfast basket needs some serious updating, squashed white bread wrapped in plastic is unappealing and likewise, bland cereal. The fruit juice was a great start but perhaps replace all the rest with a croissant or decent baguette. Parking was excellent value (but only if you have a small car, it's tight!) in a city that charges like a wounded bull for parking.
An excellent choice for a short or long stay, with helpful staff and welcoming surrounds.

Room Tip: Our suite on the first floor was easily accessed, quiet and with a decent view.

I was looking for a venue for my daughters photos to be taken before her wedding and was amazed by the staircase in the foyer of this hotel, absolutely perfect for her photos. The rooms were first class and very roomy, elegant would be a good way to describe them. The management and staff could not have done any more to make this the most perfect stay, nothing was too much trouble for them. The girls had a large 2 bedroom unit to all get ready in and my daughter and her new husband had a beautiful 1 bedroom appartment for their wedding night. I would definately recommend this Hotel to anyone looking for somewhere quiet and central to stay in Brisbane. Overall a very pleasant experience.
