“Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2007

The Novotel Brisbane is more of a business hotel, it caters to the business person. Access in/out of the hotel is a little difficult if you are walking to different sites. You must cross a couple of busy streets and is a bit out of the way of main attractions. The hotel itself is very nice and we had a beautiful view of the city out the window of our room.

Stayed here for 5 nights (April 2007). Modern hotel although appears more suited to the corporate customer as opposed to the tourist. We ate out every night (Queen St - 15 minutes walk) so can not comment on the restaurant but the bar area was pleasant and the bar staff friendly and helpful. All the staff that we dealt with were courteous, professional and helpful. Room was modern and a reasonable
size and the bed was very comfy. The 10mins walk to Brisbane centre did not bother but it is not as centrally located as some hotels (the
Hilton for example). Great hotel that I would use again....

A hotel perfect for business purposes and short stays of one or two nights. Centrally located in a typical business district only 5 minutes walk from shopping centre of Brisbane.
Room was clean and spacious. Good quality but might be a little boring for a longer stay.

  • Liked — Central location, clean, orderly, internet access in reception
  • Disliked — Not very original in any way

After 8 hours of flights, we were really tired when we arrived at Brisbane... then another 30 mins train to the city center and thank god, Novotel is right next to the station. It is literally 3 mins walk from the main station and we were there.

Check in was quick, and the 10th floor room we were given was quite big but without any memorable views. Since we are only at Brisbane for a short stay, I think the name of the game is to get out and explore. Food was a bit of an issue at the time, since there arent that much around... but there are plenty of choices from Adelaide street, which is a short walk (15-20 mins) from the hotel.

Modern, clean and with friendly helpful staff, and a really comfy king-sized bed. Novotel is part of many lovely memories at Brisbane.

  • Liked — Location, modern, clean
  • Disliked — food was disappointing

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2007

Stayed for two nights in early December 2006 and the bookings for two rooms were made at different times through my travel agency via the Accor website to get Special Offer rates.

The carpark was pretty full on arrival so we parked temporarily in a corporate park until a guest park was available (cleared this with Reception first since we were concerned about being parked illegally and getting towed away!).

There was obviously a conference being held at the hotel when we arrived, so check in took a little while. One of the 'non-smoking' rooms we were allocated had cigarette odour, however, there was no problem at all in changing for another room on another floor - the level of service at the front desk was excellent.

Both rooms were spacious with decor of a high standard - 2 double beds with good linen, comfortable pillows and cushions. Bathroom was clean and of a good size.

Had a drink at the bar and was impressed with the efficient and friendly staff.

Hotel is reasonably close to Queen Street (10 minute walk) and convenient to public transport.

One small problem we had though was trying to find the right road to bring the car up to the front of the hotel!

Had two very comfortable nights here recently.
Room and bathroom were large and very clean and the beds were terrific.
Service at checkin/out was friendly helpful and professional. The restaurant staff were relaxed cheerful and unpretentious but still very responsive to requests. The quality of food at dinner and breakfast was excellent. Only criticism was that it was hard to get a consistently hot cup of coffee from the dispenser urn.
The hotel has a great central city location - easily accessible by
car with easy complimentay parking - a short walk to the city mall and Central Rail Station.
Website booking offered great value for money.
