“Great Choice for a Weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

This hotel far exceeded its expectations. Good location, close to train station and shopping mall. sadly we only stayed for 1 night, a whole weekend would have been better. We had not intended to dine in the hotel but were hot and tired after a long day, so we decided if there were more than 3 tables occupied in the restaurant we would dine there. The food was good with a varied menu and a special of the day which included a glass of wine. Rooms were light, clean and airy and we would not hasten to recommend this hotel, and when we next visit Brisbane we will stay here again

We have stayed at this establishment many times and never get sick of it. The small scale of the hotel which has a 4.5 star rating has boutique feel about it. Without exception, the staff are always friendly, welcoming you as you enter, providing directions for first time visitors and express interest in your daily excursion. The rooms are clean and functional with a pleasent decor although I am not sure about the curtins which appear to have blood splattered over them !!. If there was a down side, due to our extended stay (12 nights), the breakfast became monotonous (not the hotels fault) so we went downtown for a bit of variety. As the hotel is up the hill from the the main shopping area it can be a bit of a slog if your partner has given the Boxing day sales a work over (as she did) however if you are street wise there are routes through the Central railway station via escalators and the nearby Sofitel to ease the climb (ask the staff). Our room got the early morning sun at about 5.30am which means we had an early start to our days and was maybe a good thing.

Room Tip: If you dont want an early start to your day avoid the rooms which get the morning sun (especially in...

My wife was at a conference in town & rather than travel home to the hills we booked in for the weekend at the Novotel Brisbane. I arrived by commuter bus from the airport; a very quick trip. My checkin was quick and pleasant - we had booked a package that included breakfast. As my wife's time was so restricted due to her commitments, one evening we decided to have dinner in the hotel itself.

We were really surprised at the quality of the restaurant, friendliness of the staff, presentation of the food and menu selection. Honestly one of the nicest meal experiences we had enjoyed anywhere!

We had a bit of a mix up with the parking - which was really a misunderstanding. The manager phoned us the day we departed to asure us that the charges had been taken care of - great to see genuine service in this busy day and age.

Our room was fantastic, comfortable and well laid out with excellent views to the river and bridge.

While this is definitely a large chain operation the atmosphere in the public areas was casual and very relaxed. I would recommend Novotel Brisbane to anyone traveling for business or leisure! We enjoyed our meals immensely, the staff were always on hand, polite and friendly which really makes this property stand out! Great work and we will be back!

Room Tip: If you purchase parking as part of a package please ensure that you discuss the system with the fron...

The location, quality and comfortableness of this place can not be surpassed. It is located right next to Central Station (no, you can't hear any of the train noises) and also subsequently right on the fringe of the Brisbane CBD.

We managed to get the best deal from visiting their website themselves - and it was quite good value.

We were leaving at 4am in the morning to catch a flight - and breakfast was included in our rate - so they packed up little breakfasts for us so that we could eat early/take with us.

The rooms and beds were comfortable and the place was neat and tidy.

This is a great hotel just a short walk from Queen Street Mall. The rooms are fully renovated and very spacious with great king size bed and sitting area. No view to speak of, with the window facing into the building next door. Staff were extremely friendly and courteous, and always quick to assist.

There is a large pool area for guests, and a great bar area off the lobby. The only gripe (and this goes for all Novotels) is the low-grade bathroom amenities. Boring Novotel branded soap, they need to do a little better in this regard and select a better quality supplier.

Really enjoyed the stay here, and would definately consider returning. Although the Sofitel is just across the road and if you can get a good deal there its a definate step up in terms of overall quality and experience.

First time at the Novotel Brisbane, nice and clean, recently refurbished. great staff throughout. A little out of the way from the CBD. Breakfast was nice, had room service for dinner which was great. Overall great but nothing over the top, nicer than the Sofitel to stay at though.
