“Good unless you need wifi”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

It's your typical mid range hotel. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, average breakfast. Hugeee drawback is the wifi situation. Not only is it about 50% higher then anywhere else in AU but the fee covers only 1 device! Talk about not being accommodating, this should be a major deal breaker for those relying on WiFi during their trip. I do hope the hotel reads this review and reconsiders there device policy; but until then, you gotta look elsewhere.

Stayed here one night for business, with a colleague in room next door. He had the room next to the lift but fortunately the one closest to him was being refurbished so he didn't get any noise. Small but pleasant room with everything you'd need. Didn't eat there but tried to have a drink in the bar after dinner elsewhere - closed at 10pm, but able to buy a drink from reception and take it back up to the bar to drink. Upgrading of lifts caused some slowdowns but not unmanagable. Getting to the hotel by car was very tricky if you don't know Brisbane CBD (Turbot is one-way) and parking next door in the Mercure was very squeezy and had to double park nose to tail.

Good size room, Good location if you want to get some takeout or dine in restaurants. Walk to malls etc. Walk around the city. Parking was a bit expensive, you have to park at Mercure next door.$25/night but its safe and secure.
On the confirmation we received, it said breakfast starts at 6am. I went down at 6.15 but the notice at the entrance said breakfast at 7pm?
Room had nice view day and night time, big for 2 of us and baby.

I stayed several days. A principal reason was the convenient closeness to Roma Street Statio9n and to the city. It is a quiet part of town and very easy to move around.

The only criticism is the temprary problem with the lifts while they are upgraded.

I would certainly stay again.

Room Tip: All rooms appear to be good

Excellent value for money. Good size rooms with 2 queen beds. Easy access to Roma St train station for the train to the airport. The lifts are still not fully functioning but still only had wait a short period of time. All staff were helpful and friendly. Only down for the room (and its only small thing) is the lack of easily accessible power points to plug different chargers into

Good clean room, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, acres of space in my room (compared to the Ibises at Amsterdam Centraal and Earls Court). Breakfast okay, but I wonder how anyone in a wheelchair can get there?
I stayed here for two weeks as a mixture of business and recreational travel. Staff were professional, friendly and helpful.
Special mention to Tom on the reception desk at Mercure who helped me get my enormous and heavy suitcase to my car (parked under the Mercure) with the least hassle, much better than his colleague who just suggested I wheel it around the street... Thank you Tom, great service ethic!
The only negative was that the lifts were being renovated, and the morning wait for the lift was amazing until one learnt to push both the up and down button and take the lift going up so that there would be room for you to go down in it...

Room Tip: Ask for an even numbered room - you are then away from the street.

We wanted to stay in Brisbane CBD for the ANZAC Day dawn service.
We were pleasantly surprised that the IBIS was so nice for the price.
By far the best value in Brisbane CBD. We just had a standard room but it was ample room with what appeared to be a near new Queen bed and quality fitout, it was as good, if not a little better than most 4 star places. The layout was a little odd but overall a great nights sleep. Plus an 11am check out which was perfect for us to have a nap after the dawn service then go to the parade. Top job IBIS.
