We booked a room using our hilton honors points. We were issued with a certificate which we presented to the guy at the front desk upon arrival. he said that this wasn't the right certificate. It was the ONLY certificate we got, so he either had to accept it or incur my wrath. Needless to say he asked someone in the back office and they agreed with me.

Rooms are old Victorian style and unless you like highjumping, more diabled and elderley people will find it hard to get into and out of the bath due to the high sides.

Door was locked out onto balcony which is a shame as the room would be a whole lot better if you had access onto the balcony with views across the river.

On Williams St. That's good if you are driving. Coronation becomes North Quay becomes Williams kind of thing. Ann St Freeway exit gets you right on Williams.
Bridge to South Bank a block away.
The stairs to a ferry station is half a block away.
Parking is Valet. You kind of have to do that if you are CBD.
Concierge Excellent.
Block from Queen St. Mall.
Gym OK. It is spacious.
Lab is excellent. Menu somewhat limited, but makes up for it using the yummy factor. Has mini-vegemite bottle at breakfast.
Helpful, efficient, professional, and very polite staff.
Rooms roomy, elegant, clean. Did not encounter any insects ala one of the previous reviewer.
Bed is very comfortable.
Furniture is comfortable and well chosen.
TV is OK.
I will stay at the Conrad again.

The Conrad is one of those fabulous hotels that does not feel like yet another chain hotel. It is located in the refurbished treasury building and many of the rooms are former offices with large rooms, very high celings, old timber fittings and sandstone balconies. Some of the bathrooms are as big as some hotel rooms I have been in.
It is located right on the Brisbane river within short walking distance of the city or across the bridge to the restuarants in Southbank
Underground parking is available right next door.
Breakfast is good and a reasonable price.
I stay there often on business and consider it the best hotel in Brisbane.

I was taken to Treasury as a surprise for my birthday on Sat. 3 November 2007. The minute my partner drove up to the door I felt welcomed by the staff. He had made all the bookings and asked the staff to talk to him directly as it was a surprise. The morning of our stay my partner received a phone call just on 10am to say our room was ready early and that we could come at anytime. We were upgraded to a Parlour room also. The KING bed was incredibly comfortable, the view was fantastic, the service impeccable. After going out to the city for lunch we arrived back to our room to relax and received a knock on the door and it was room service. We opened the door to be surprised by a staff member with a plate of choc dipped strawberries complete with chocolate sail and a birthday card for me. The best bit was that the staff member, "Karen", sang me happy birthday! I was truly gobsmacked. My partner had not arranged this little surprise so he too was surprised. It made our stay a perfect, perfect stay. Thank you Treasury. We have decided we are going to be staying with you regularly!!!

Location –
The Conrad is situated in the heart of Brisbane a two minute walk to Queen Street Mall the main shopping/ business area. It’s a short walk across a park to the Casino. It’s approximately 20 minutes from the domestic and international airports.

Check in-
All staff members were fantastic and showed a high level of efficiency. Our car was also parked for us and we were in our room within 5 minutes.

Room –
Our room 124 an executive suite was beautifully decorated and enormous, with stunning tall ceilings and high glass windows (locked). A lounge suite, working desk, mini bar, TV cabinet, CD player and a lovely king size bed.

It was my husband’s birthday and he was given a lovely platter of cheese and fruit and a “Happy Birthday” card which we thought to be extremely sweet. The only negative, we couldn’t open the windows to get to the large balcony attached to the room.

Bathroom –
The bathroom was very spacious and luxurious, with a separate bath tub and walk-in shower. Fluffy towels and bathrobes were also supplied.

Room Service – Fast and efficient.

Restaurants – We had dinner at the Casino in the Marco Polo Restaurant which we found to offer an excellent menu and wine list. The food was also of the highest quality. There are numerous other bars and restaurants located in the hotel and within the casino.

Breakfast – The breakfast room was located on the lobby floor in the Lab Bar, and offered an a la carte menu (no buffet) which we do prefer. However, the service was fabulous and the breakfast terrific.

Business Centre- there is a small office on the ground floor next door to the reception which offered internet service with a printer attached.

Overall –

We had a lovely stay at Conrad’s and my husband enjoyed his birthday surprise, especially being able to play blackjack next door at the casino. I highly recommend this hotel if looking for 5 star accommodation and service in the heart of Brisbane.

Negative – none except there is no swimming pool which I particularly like to have especially in the summer months.

  • Liked — service and comfortable room
  • Disliked — no swimming pool
