I booked on the hotels website and got 2 nts for
the price of 1 promotion at $165 for a King
Executive Room. Executive rooms and suites
are on the top 4 floors of the hotel and renovated
in April 2009. My 20th floor room was large,
modern and decorated in caramel, rust and dark
blue tones. Large windows with views of the CBD,
Southbank and river. Large glass-topped desk,
chair with ottomon & separate chaise lounge. The
bathroom was a disappointment, un-renovated and
very 1980s. Nice Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries though.
Hilton Brisbane has “Executive Plus” rooms for an
extra $40, so I assume they must have nicer bathrooms.
Booking an Executive room gives you access to the
Executive Lounge on 25th floor, with continental
buffet breakfast, snacks during the day (coffee, tea,
juices, yoghurt, fruit, biscuits and pastries), and
drinks and canapes in the early evening. The Lounge
has a TV, newspapers and magazines available and
has a great view of the CBD and Brisbane River. It is
quiet and a great place to relax. The breakfast offerings
were extensive and of good quality. I was told if I
preferred a hot breakfast I could go down to the main
lobby dining area. The hotel is in a great CBD location
(access via Elizabeth Street, or via an elevator in the
Queen Street Mall).
Lobby is on the 6th floor. Atrium style hotel. My room
was so quiet and the bed was very comfortable. There
was supposed to be a pillow menu in the room, but I
couldn’t find it amongst the brochures. Check-in was
swift. No-stop check-out was easy - I had a bill under
my door and I just signed, sealed the envelope and
dropped it into reception when leaving. Housekeeping
was a bit hit and miss, forgetting to replenish sugar,
and I came back to the room twice and it wasn’t done.
I would stay there again if I could get a similar cheap
deal. I wouldn’t pay $390 for the room as advertised on
other websites.
