We were quite apprehensive to have been booked in a Best Western hotel on a business trip to Brisbane. Although it is an all units property with no restaurant we were so impressed with this one.Smooth brisk check in by efficient reception staff.Only a couple of bus stops away from the convention centre, any bus from the Mater bus station will get you there in five minutes and plenty of dining options at Southbank,Grey St and Stanley St. It was an ideal location, couldn't find a single negative thing to say about this place.Would highly recommend it for corporate travellers.

Yes, it's and new and Hi-tech. Yes, it's completely non-smoking, so it smells clean, and it's quiet... Until you try to go to sleep.

The aircon and fan are directly above the beds. You'll either be stifling, because the rooms have little to no other ventilation, or near-deafened and blasted by the aircon all night. Better pack plenty of sleeping pills.

Your room will not be made up unless you stay more than six nights (or pay extra) - something you're NOT told about on check-in and is NOT mentioned online.

Reception is NOT open 24 hrs as advertised. If you have an early flight and don't want to just leave your key and make sure the $150 security charge they slugged you (again, NOT mentioned online) when you checked in is reversed, you're in trouble. If you do leave without insisting they reverse it, good luck trying to do it remotely. The staff suddenly have trouble speaking english the moment you have a complaint.

Parking is 10$ a day. Internet is ludicrously expensive. Next time I come to Brisbane, as I do frequently for work, I sure as hell won't stay at the Sudima Suites. It boasts 4 stars (dots?) on the Qantas site through which I booked it. It only deserves half that. What a scam.

Room Tip: You want to choose a good room? Stay at a different hotel. There's no restaurant. There's...

We loved our recent holiday in Brisbane to visit our new grandson at the Mater Hospital. The unit we got was a total surprise very well laid out with top quality appliances for a short stay rental. Everything was clean functioned properly and the kitchenette was so handy to prepare meals for ourselves and son -in- law. Most of all I would like to commend the management and staff of this establishment. Everytime we walked through the lobby they would inquire on the progress of mum and bub. Any request made was promptly attended to. We will definately be staying here quite often on our frequent visits to Brisbane.

Room Tip: Corner suites are large and sunny

Went to Brisbane In Business and stayed for 4 nights. So happy Istayed there. The units were fantastic--- bright, spacious, very clean and the views fom their verandah is so good compared to the other over priced units in the CBD which overlook office blocks. Have told my other colleagues about this little find 2 mins. drive form the city and they have also booked on the Sudima website to stay there in a fortnights time. highly reccomend it for all going to Brisbane.

Room Tip: If budget permits definately go for the executive units -- worth every penny you spend

Stayed for 2 nights in a Queen studio double, found the room to be well-appointed ,very clean and all appliances( including dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, tv, sound system) to be in good working order and easy to operate. The in-room compendium was extensive with lots of useful info.
The apartment hotel is situated near Mater Hill hospital and is very easy to access by car from the M1 motorway, literally 2 turns and you're there. Parking was extremely affordable and safe, paid $10 per 24 hours. the walk into the lively Southbank precinct takes less than 5 minutes and by crossing a bridge you can be at the botanical gardens within 10min and the southern end of Queen street mall in 20 min.
If you prefer a bus , the stop is about 50m from the entrance and buses run very frequently, buy a Go Card at convenience stores to save on your fare and just remember to tap on and off as you start/end your journey. Although in such an accessible location, no traffic sound could be heard in my room.
The lap pool is small but immaculate clean and the gym had a good range of equipment.Buy some food before you arrive or in the CBD if you plan on cooking as the convenient shops within walking distance had limited range/was quite expensive/closed fairly early.
Staff was friendly and helpful, the only weird thing was that when I booked via phone and left my credit card as a security, the card was charged automatically without me being informed about it, annoying as cc payments incur a small surcharge( Normally hotels use the cc as a guarantee and then you settle the bill upon check out). Make sure to inform the front office if you want to settle the bill via cash/Eftpost.
Note also that reception closes as 8pm so ensure all your room access cards are working properly as there seemed to be some small issues with the card readers and you don't want to get stuck outside having to call for assistance after hours.
Overall excellent quality and value for money In a convenient location, particularly if you need a car park.

We stayed in the Best Western Sudima for one night in January 2013, while we were in Brisbane for a cricket match.

The Sudima is a bright and modern apartment style complex located about 20-25 minutes walk to the city. It is next to the Mater hospital and a 10 minute stroll to the GABBA. There is not much else in the immediate area, so don't plan on dashing across the street to get anything to eat.

The rooms are bright, spacious and well-furnished, with good quality carpeting and appliances. The bathroom in the one bedroom apartment was nice, but very, very small and a bit of a wreck after a couple of showers had splashed water about the place. Surprisingly, when you look at the location, there was very little traffic noise and sleep quality was therefore very good.

The kitchenette is compact but functional, and you could knock together a simple meal if you were so inclined. It was nice to have a washer/dryer included.

There is a small swimming pool (shallow and not much to it) and a fitness room on site. The fitness room was rubbish - a couple of cardio machines and a weights machine with a big 'out of order' sign on it.

Staff were friendly and welcoming, but it's worth noting that there is no service at all in the evenings - the front desk closes up and the lights go off. If you are expecting hotel style service here, forget it.....which poses the question, what exactly IS a Best Western hotel? I've stayed in some with aspirations to five star quality and others, like this, that are basically a long-stay apartment complex with only the lowest levels of service. There is absolutely no consistency with this brand and it makes booking difficult.

WiFi was available but yet again in Brisbane is an 'extra' to be charged for. When will Australian hotels learn that this is a completely false economy and does so much to discourage guests from coming back? Learn from other countries and give us free WiFi with our rooms!

One final jarring note - and it's a pretty petty complaint - was in the 'guest services' book in the room. You know the sort of thing - local restaurants, how to use the TV etc. At the Sudima, this is just a long list of all the things they will charge you extra for - rooms left dirty, extra guests, or whatever. It's a minor thing, but it leaves a bit of a creepy atmosphere to the place and doesn't sit comfortably. We all know that you can't trash a hotel room! There's no need to spell out just what it will cost us.

Overall, this is a decent place and would suit a longer stay. If they get the fitness room and WiFi sorted, I would make this a regular stop in Brisbane.

Room Tip: There are some pretty serious roads in the area - I would suggest requesting a 'quiet' room...
