“Excellent location & exceptional service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2012

My husband and I have stayed here on three separate occasions due to appointments with surgeons and the successive preoperative surgery and finally major surgery in late November 2011. On each occasion we were warmly welcomed and by the time of our final 9 night stay in a one bedroom suite we felt like one of the family. The accomodation served as 'our home away from home' during the period of my husband's surgery and subsequent convalesence (when he was required to stay near the hospital) and we received exceptional service and concern for our well being on each and every visit. The accomodation was spot on and the spaciousness of the king suite with its wonderful large verandah facing north was perfect for our needs. Thank you to all concerned, we will return!

Room Tip: Rooms on the North side on the higher floors are quieter if you plan a longer stay. Otherwise the do...

I stayed at the Best Western Plus Sudima Suites for just one night while in transit.
The location is just adjacent to a large hospital complex and about a 1km walk to a waterfront entertainment area with restaurants and a theater.

The property is not a hotel, but serviced apartments, therefore you won't see the usual hotel amenities like;
- No restaurant
- No business center
- No help for luggage
- Probably no wake-up calls
- After hours, no staff

However, as serviced apartments, they are very well done.
My suite was very large with floor to ceiling windows almost filling two walls.

What I liked
- Large living area and balcony
- Furniture (table/chairs) on balcony
- Flat screen TV with good channel selection
- Very comfortable bed with good linens
- The bedroom is very isolated from the entrance hallway, so I didn't hear any doors slaming like other reviewers commented on
- Good underground parking
- Secure key access to elevator and rooms

To improve
- Spartan decor is not cozy
- Bathroom is small compared to suite size
- Internet is expensive
- Lobby front desk staff seem more like care-takers (instead of well trained hotel staff)

Since my suite only had one bedroom, but such a large living area and balcony, I think it would be an ideal place to entertain a group of people.....for example, a dinner party. (although a fairly early one which would comply with the strict noise policy posted)

Conclusion:

I think the suites would also be ideal for medium to long term stayers.

This is a nice new hotel with problems. Some secure doors don't close and all the rest of them close with a loud bang which all other rooms can hear ,very annoying in the evening & early morning if your sleeping.
Our bathroom had a foul odour coming from the open drain, a poor drainage, construction problem.
Our suite had an east facing large balcony which had a nice view, but constantly very noisy as you overlook a highway going into the city. The west side is much quieter
You are next to Mater hospital where there is constant traffic and helicopters coming and going often
I did have a resevation problem for another week which I cancelled since the owners/managers refused to speak to me about. They did not honour the room for the price I was given. The management has a total lack of customer service. The rest of the staff with the exception of one were very friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff are friendly but only do the bare minimum, such as change towels, and make the bed. They will, when asked, wipe the floors, sinks, etc with the same cloth and didn't use any cleaning solution. Not good, compared to most other hotels. Very small bathrooms, with showers only, which you can only get into if your a small thin person!
This hotel is close to the bus stop but it's on a steep hill so coming back up is difficult for some, impossible for others with medical conditions. A car is good to have but the hotel access is one way in and out. Very busy streets at rush hour so be prepared for a long wait to get back.
The hotel advertises WiFi included in the ammenties but you have to pay $20/night , which should have been stated. Parking is reasonable at $10/night.
Kitchen has a microwave and a hot plate with no stove or BBQ so limited cooking. There are no restaurants in the immediate area except one or two. There are many restaurants in South Bank, about a kilometer away.Studio rooms have only a microwave & small fridge. The pool is a small lap pool and the fitness room is very small also with limited equipment.
This was my worst stay I have ever had, combined with the poorest customer service. The only thing good is that the hotel is new (with poor construction problems) and is located close to South Bank and the highway. It is also cheaper than other hotels, in the area.

Room Tip: request west side rooms which are quieter ending in 05 or 06 some rooms have large balconies(execut...

The only things I could fault were the smallish bathroom, some dishes which weren't cleaned properly, and the fact that the noise from the hallway (particularly the room doors which literally slamed shut) made its way virtually unfiltered into my room - not so good for a light sleeper like myself.

As with most Aussie hotels the internet charges are excessive, and there's no Wifi in the rooms. On the plus side, however, the movie channels were free, and the washer/dryer was new and worked perfectly. The location is quiet and only a ten minute walk to the wonderful Southbank by the Brisbane river. Good value.

On a visit to Brisbane, all the CBD hotels had crazy $300/night room rates - too rich for me. I widened my search just a little bit and found this brand new gem. Close to the Mater Hospital, and a short walk from the Riverside/ S Brisbane, the Sudima suites are a brand new hotel. Expect MORE for your money! I was very impressed with the room(s) I was lucky enough to be staying in: large lounge room, verandah, a well equipped kitchen and large bedroom with ensuite. All squeaky clean/brand new and very comfortable. My only disappointemnt is that my stay was for one night - maybe next time!

I recieved great service while staying at this hotel as part of my Hens nights celebrations. The staff were very approachable, patient and helpful. The rooms are spacious, with a lovely big balcony. Everything was new and clean. Would definately stay again. Thanks
