Last week we stayed a night in the Hamilton area of Brisbane before returning to New Zealand after a Sunshine Coast holiday. We strolled along Racecourse Road to find a good place to dine in the evening on Good Friday. After checking out the menu we decided to eat at 63. This restaurant could not be faulted. The staff were welcoming, unobtrusive, attentive and made the job look simple. The house wine was excellent. We had barrumundi, prawns, salad and chips. This dish was reasonably priced, perfectly cooked with just a light batter and fresh salad and we were we were thrilled with the choice. There were tables on the pavement, under cover but still open to the outdoors on a pleasant evening or indoors. The ambience suited us perfectly. Lighting was good, music was soft, lanterns were outside, flowers were on each table and the very crisp white tableclothes set the scene.
We want to congratulate the owner (who turned out to be a fellow New Zealander), chef and staff at this restaurant for their superb service, the presentation and total overall experience. It deserves to be very successful and we will return to it when next in Brisbane.
