“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

Had a great evening dinner. Service was very god, although a bit too pushy to order fast. Food was excellent, best choice the slow cooked lamb shoulder and the oxtail. Sophisticated food in very pleasant surroundings.

“Awesome restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

Ate at Ortiga the other night. Wow, it was spectacular. The open kitchen was nice and the sommelier was spot on with his recommendations. We started with croquetas followed by ajo blanco smoked eel and then the slow cooked lamb shoulder. All was prepared and cooked to perfection. This is one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at. Highly recommend.

“Not cheap but a special place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

We booked Ortiga on a friend's recommendation and it was a great experience, with a couple of reservations.

But first, the good stuff. It's a stylish place and clearly a fashionable food destination in Brisbane. The open kitchen adds a real sense of theatre, and the service is flawless. The wine list is exceptional, especially when it comes to the wines of Spain. The menu is reassuringly tight and much of the food we tried was delicious and beautifully presented.

On the other hand, a couple of the dishes were borderline too cool when served. The portions are small but the prices are not. And one or two dishes can be a bit plain.

If money's no object, you'll be able to order enough from the Tapas-style selection not to feel hungry and there is much to recommend Ortiga.

“WOW !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013 via mobile

We went to Ortiga last night and were blown away
Our waitress and sommelier were incredible- we chose our food and then had wines matched to each course- all perfect
We shared 6 little courses-1 of which the chef shouted us !!
We sat next to the open kitchen and it was like being at the theatre
Our night was faultless and we thought great value- we got a lot of bang for our bucks!!
Would recommend anyone goes there !!

“Absolutely delightful and warm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

We walked in without a reservation, after reading a review online. The bar as we entered seemed empty and didn't exude the energy that one expects in a Spanish restaurant. So we were a bit unsure. But the staff immediately took charge and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. And once you walk downstairs its a whole different world. They have one of the best wine collections I have come across recently. The food was outstanding, retaining the natural flavours, giving them a bit of an unexpected twist and presented in the most delectable fashion. It is michelin without going molecular! The staff is extremely attentive and is passionate about what they do. We watched each one in action from the open kitchen and it is evident this team loves their work. Andrew is an impeccable host exuding warmth. And the most touching moment was when they ordered a taxi and even took care to pack our bags in as we were headed to an international flight after that. One of the best experiences for us in terms of food, wine and service.
