Cycling and driving past this amazingly located cafe for a number of years I decided for once to actually stop and try it out.
Now we're not exactly talking silver service establishment here. A sign tells you to "find a table before placing your order", and fortunately we were lucky enough to do so, forget it of course if you're on you own, unless perhaps you were prepared to leave your possessions unattended in this very public space. They only take orders from the main counter, and you pay on placing your order.
The range of foods was good a mixture of items from a menu or a small collection of foods in a a cabinet. The items on the menu seemed interesting. The two salad variations we ordered tasted very delicious.
The view is remarkable and the restaurant is supremely located to make the most of it. In fact it is arguably Brisbane's best restaurant view / food combination (apologies to the cluster of supremely delicious high end restaurants in the Eagle St area, you unfortunately only look at the mangrove lined stretch of Kangaroo point).
Service was pleasant and superficially helpful. We did ask to move tables when one with a better view became available, and a member of the wait staff said that it was fine and she'd adjust our order accordingly, but some 5 minutes later our food almost got delivered to the perplexed new occupant of our former table. Fortunately we had been waiting a while and were hungry and very attuned to the movements of meals around the cafe and realised that it was our meal being delivered to our old table and the food was appropriately delivered to us.
Parking is not too bad (street parking only).
A little pricey if for the food alone, but lets face it you're paying for the food AND the view and altogether the value is reasonable.
