We spent 5 nights at this hotel while at a conference at the Brisbane Convention Center. Based on the generally positive reviews, I went in with high hopes - unfortunately, it was disappointing.
Upon checking in, we were told the only "Studio" apartment available was on the 3rd floor. The apartment looked out on an alley and the massive skyscraper next door, and had very little natural light.
Soon after settling in, we realized there was no heat (we were there in July, winter in Brisbane). Worse still, there was a rotten egg smell coming from the bathroom whenever we turned the water on.
We called their "emergency line", as by now (couldn't have been 5 PM) the person at the desk was nowhere to be found. After some wrangling (including getting hung up on), they finally sent a member of the building management up to check out the problem. He explained to us that unfortunately the heating system sometimes can't handle all its loads, and that he'd see what he could do.
To his credit, he did some checking and came back with an alternative studio for us around the 30th floor (this is why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1). Still, I wonder: how was this room not available about an hour ago when we checked in, and the lady told us they were fully booked for days? Clearly, the staff wasn't being honest with us.
The higher apartment had better light, and was in general more comfortable. Still, we wished we had chosen a different hotel. Beyond the sub-standard rooms and poor front desk service, the location just really isn't that great. Yes, it's convenient to the river ferry, but the surrounding area seems to be mainly business towers, and completely clears out at night.
To sum up, the poor service and lackluster rooms made me sour on this place pretty quickly. I'd bet you could find a much better value elsewhere in Brisbane.
I wouldn't go with a studio...

We regret that you experienced maintenance issues, and we have rectified the air-conditioning issues brought up during your stay. We will also pass on your feedback to the front-office staff to address any issues, and train on how to better handle this type of issue.
We do recommend that if booking for a longer period, or booking for a room with a view that guests choose a one-bedroom apartment or larger – please let us know if you would like to return, and we will accommodate you in one of our larger apartments which will hopefully impress you with their size and views!
We do sincerely regret your soured experience, and hope that should you return you will contact us so that we can make it up to you.”
