“very nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

I stayed here on a business trip very close to airport, very nice friendly staff.
Clean room great room service, new computer internet access.
Great menu in the resturant, also had a large variety for breakfast.
There was an airport shuttle for only $5.

For decades, Brisbane was missing a real "airport" hotel - an oddity given it's international hub status and frequent use as an emergency stopover when Sydney is fogged in. This Novotel is a capable and well-located hotel, although several miles from the terminal.

Designed in faux-modern, the rooms have comfortable beds and are well-isolated from the sound of the airport. As is typical with Australian hotels, get set to be gouged on internet access - with $24.95/day for what is claimed a half-megabit connection. Of course it was dead slow and pretty unusable. When do we start to see results for the $50B Australian government broadband for all program?

With an all-new hotel, you'd think the televisions would give a proper picture, but no dice. Several pictures I viewed were on mal-adjusted TV's with snowy pictures from what is known to be a clear satellite.

Breakfast room service was mid-range in pricing, service was quick, and staff was friendly. I agree with the other reviewer that the $5 charge for the shuttle seems petty for a room pushing $300 a night.

Upgraded room had "minimalist" shower design that guarantees the floor is flooded. Get an extra towel.

Much better than the motel-looking alternatives located much further away from the airport, but BNE needs a real terminal-adjacent hotel to give a balance to what's available at modern airports.

Location is great for times when you have an early am flight. Although the $5 charge for the hotel's airport shuttle felt a bit like nickel and diming....checkin was easy. I stayed in a "premium" room which was comfortable and quiet, but not luxurious. Other than the kettle being full of water and the used shampoo bottle (appeared that the housekeeper just put the lid back on, but not even straight), the room was clean. Upon entering the room it was quite hot and humid - took about 30 minutes to become comfortable. The "premium" room included free wifi, however I was never able to connect.

Had to overnight in Brisbane and Novotel Brisbane airport is the perfect stop. Close to airport reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Had room service for lunch and dinner and enjoyed my meal both times.

Thank you.

Our family of two adults and one teenager stayed here twice in January on our way in and out of Brisbane Airport in a standard room. Whilst the rooms aren't a bad size and the hotel is in a fantastic position, the bedding was terrible (two adults tend to roll into the middle of the bed) and totally uncomfortable. The bath includes a shower and has quite high sides which makes it hard for somebody who has bad knees (like myself) or elderly to get in and out as there are no handrails to grab. The lifts seemed to have problems reading the key cards and it took a few tries to get it to work (we witnessed other guests with the same problem too). Cleanliness seems to have fallen off since my last visit in April 2012 as we checked into a room that had a full waste bin in the bathroom (used sanitary items included) and a half drunk bottle of water in the fridge that my son had a sip from as he thought one of us had opened it. We did notify the front desk of these issues and they apologised.

large and spacious (wasted space?) hotel convenient for the airport.
We ordered room service, were advised 45 minutes, rang after an hour and were told the Chef had forgotten the order. Profuse apologies and a free meal. When it arrived it was absolutely superb. vegetable cooked to perfection (rare in an hotel) and perfectly presented.
late but delicious dinner. Well done to the staff for their fine reaction.
unfortunately like all hotels in NZ they charge 1.5% for credit card payments which when our credit card company then charge 2.5% for the pleasure makes traveling in New Zealand more expensive than it need be. Only Oz and NZ do this. Why?

We chose the entertainment package and we had anything BUT entertainment. The concert was cancelled and management chose NOT to inform us. We found out via Facebook and confirmed through bar staff 30 mins prior to supposed pick up time. This was very disappointing and unprofessional on their behalf.
