“Excellent value in a wonderful location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2011

Upon our arrival my son & I were greeted warmly by the new managers, Annette & Dale. I had chosen the Kirribilli due to it's proximity to the Brisbane Powerhouse & we also wanted to be near the river. We booked a week in a 'budget' 2 Bed apartment which cost considerably less than the other 2 beds on offer at the time, so we weren't expecting too much. We were pleasantly surprised! Our unit was very big, very clean and comfortable with all the necessities, (bar food !)for our stay. The furniture was a touch dated but considering the price, this wasn't an issue. We were on the first floor and could still see sections of the river through the trees from our lovely long balcony. There is a bus stop literally at the door & the ferry is now up & running from the Sydney St. wharf just a 100 metres away. It is a leisurely 20 min. stroll to the Powerhouse along the riverwalk/ Oxlade Drive and 30 min. stroll to the Merthyr Village for groceries etc. The buses run continuously up Brunswick St. from Oxlade Drive into the city if your legs need a break! There is a recently opened small coffee 'cafe' across the street which does take- aways & is open from 6am to 2pm. I recommend eating at the Bowls Club nearby on the riverfront. Good food, warm hospitality & lovely outlook, at pub prices. Also highly recommend the Japanese 'Mizu Restaurant' at 2 Macquarie St....wonderful!
All up, an excellent accommodation choice for such a groovy suburb that is New Farm!

Whilst some of the rooms definitely need a renovate, these apartments are a home away from home. Spacious, well furnished, great river views, friendly helpful staff and easy walk into new Farm for some fantastic food and coffee. new Farm park and a walk along the river, or even into the city , if not just catch the ferry.
River traffic is very noisy if you stay in Christmas, New Year holidays.
