“Go for the sake of the kids!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

This is a child's paradise! The playground is spectacular and they even have a carousel for children too that runs at main meal times. My four year old declared it was the best restaurant she had ever been to.

The food however is average. We shared a pizza and a seafood linguini. Both perfectly edible, but nothing to rave about. The kids options all involve deep frying :(. They need to get some proper food on the menu for children.

We plan to go back with a group of friends who also have kids on an occasion when we need to eat a pizza and drink a beer in peace!

“We liked it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

Visited this bistro twice within a week and all was great. First occasion the Caesar salad was plentiful and tasty. On the second occasion I had the Chicken special with unusual roast vegetables and it was very good. My companions from UK had the Naked Seafood Linguine and they thought it was fabulous. Decent portions and quick service were also a plus for us. UK friends couldn`t believe the quality, quantity and price. The playground was also a big winner with the youngster. They will be living close to EP and will be returning – and I`ll join them when I`m up that way.

“A treasure for families!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

If you've got a family and you haven't been here do yourself a favour. The playground is, without a doubt, the best I've seen for any establishment promoting itself as family-friendly. There's even a merry-go-round. We ate there recently for Mothers' Day. It wasn't the first time we've been there, probably about the 5th time over a 3 year period. Food was really solid pub quality food with plenty of options but not too-daunting a menu. I had the pork belly and thorougly enjoyed it (to be honest I couldn't actually get through it). As you can imagine it was extraordinarily busy for Mothers' Day but yet service was still good quality (except probably for a small hiccup with the booking which they were able to sort out for us). It'd be a very nice option for those family lunches where extended family get together and there's kids of varying ages.

“Really caters for the kids”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2014

The Bistro at the Everton Park Hotel is to be commended. It is that rare combination where adults can have a good lunch in nice surroundings whilst the kids can safely run riot in the large play compound. The play area has a variety of swings for different ages, slides, the usual cut out play huts/cars and a real fairground carousel. Our kids had a ball.

Inside the decor is all polished wood with the menu selection typical Bistro fare of steaks, chicken dishes, fish etc. the food is well executed and plated beautifully. There were a number of birthdays being celebrated when we visited which gave it a festive feel.

The staff run the place like a well run ship and it is fascinating to watch it all unfold in the open plan kitchen. It took a little while for our food to arrive , about 45 mins, but that is to be expected in such a large and busy place. It wasn't a problem as it gave the kids time to have a play before their dinner. All in all I d recommend this for a family lunch or celebration. Child friendly plus.
