Description: Zafron's unique cuisine is representative of the 25 years of professional experience and passion from Chef/Owner Farideh Knopf (Chef Fay). The diverse menu offers about 30% traditional Persian dishes. Other dishes are Euro-style fusion with Mediterranean, French and Italian influences. Our most popular dish is Caspian Chicken- a French styled dish of pomegranate-marinated chicken tenderloins with wilted spinach and carmelised carrots topped with a creamy white whine and saffron sauce and pomegranate molasses.Zafron is unpretentious and welcoming. The dishes are prepared with care and love.

“A Great Place to Dine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2014

We were looking for somewhere special to celebrate a recent anniversary and I am so glad we chose Zafron's. From the moment we arrived we were greeted warmly by the staff and shown to our table on the front verandah. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service was fantastic. The wait staff were friendly and attentive and able to answer our questions about the dishes. The waitress who served us made sure all our needs were seen to quickly and without fuss making our night feel very special. For our meals we shared a Mixed Tapas platter which had a good selection and quantity but the mains were really something special. We chose the Caspian Chicken and Koresht-i-shirazi (slow cooked lamb stew) and both meals were to die for - so much flavour and melt in your mouth meat. We finished off with a beautiful Crème Brulee and a pot of Persian Chai. It was simply one of the best meals I have had in a long time. And to top it all off Chef Fay came out to greet us and make sure everything was to our satisfaction - by the time we left we felt like one of the family. Thank you Zafron's for making our night so special.

“Always superb!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2014 via mobile

I dined at Zafron within two weeks of its opening and absolutely loved it; the food was impeccable and the service was flawless. Since then, Zafron has been the venue of choice for all special events in my life, including tonight. As always, I was welcomed to the restaurant as if it were an extension of my home. The meals were amongst the best I have tasted in Brisbane, the atmosphere warm and friendly, service fast and attentive (while allowing enough time to enjoy each course), and again.. The food was amazing. Compliments to the chef and everyone else at Zafron! We'll keep coming back!

“Favourite restaurant in Brisbane”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2014

We first discovered Zafron after being evacuated from our apartment during the 2011 Brisbane floods. A move back to the suburbs 2 years ago put paid to our regular visits, however, last night we decided on a nostalgic return. We certainly weren’t disappointed. This was a perfect opportunity for us to indulge our habit of sharing our meals. The Persian dip platter as a starter was perfect; warm buttery Turkish bread and 3 of our favourite dips. The generous mains of Chelo Kebab and Caspian Chicken were faultless; the flavours both complex and subtle. I had almost forgotten how deliciously light and fluffy Fay’s twice cooked Persian rice is. Albeit a chilly winter night, my husband’s love of all things ice-cream drew us to order the chocolate praline and hazelnut ice-cream and the traditional orange blossom and pistachio ice-cream, which of course we shared;a perfect way to finish our exceptional meal. Michael’s attention to detail in the front of house and Fay’s culinary skills in the kitchen will definitely see us return many more times, even though it now means driving instead of walking. This would have to be our favourite restaurant in Brisbane.

“Average but overrated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

We chose this restaurant for a casual family dinner after reading reviews about it. We each ordered a different dish off the menu so that we could try a bit of everything.

The meals were brought out all together and within reasonable time as the restaurant wasn't busy. Unfortunately, the service wasn't too great the lady who served us she pretty much threw plates on the table, and seems like she was in quite rush to clear the plates from the table, she asked few times in space of 5 mins if our 3 yrs old finished with her food.
Restaurant atmosphere was nice but food was average just like any other traditional turkish/persian restaurant in the city. Food overpriced and average.

“Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

We did come here a few years ago and I had such a good memory of the place and I have always wanted to come back. We went last Friday night. The food was not warm. The waitress was just odd. The waitress took the plate away before we even finished eating. The outside area was a bit crowded. The food was ok.....my husband enjoyed the beef on his plate and nothing else. I probably wouldn't come here again. The lamb was ok the orange stuff the comes with the food was stale. We saw the manager with a frozen bag of something that he was bringing into the kitchen.
