Stayed 3 nights here at the resort . It is nice to look at , pool , bar , reception. Convenient location within walking distance of airport. Rooms are adequate without being outstanding , the beds comfortable .
Had cooked breakfast each morning and it was quite good and worth it. Plenty of variety. Free shuttle runs into town which whilst the timing is not great it can say you $ 30 each way to Mitchell street. About 1km away is the thirsty camel hotel which is good place for a meal and to watch the football or just chat.

Overall - perfect base for the traveller looking to be near the airport but with a touch of resort life.

Tick !

Thank you for taking the time to provide some feedback in relation to your recent stay. I am pleased that you have enjoyed your stay and our facilities have met your needs.
The Resort is conveniently located to the Darwin Airport and our complimentary shuttle service is very convenient for pick up and drop off. The complimentary city shuttle drops off to Casuarina shopping centre and Smith Street in the CBD leaving the resort at 10am and 5pm which as you say can save taxi fares.
The months of July and August are the peak travel months into Darwin due to the many events and weather. Rooms and airline seats are in peak demand and if travelling during these periods you can expect more expensive rates and fares. Conversely weekend and out of peak months can provide great opportunities to travel to Darwin with competitive rates being offered.
Thanks again for the feedback and I trust we will have the opportunity of welcoming you back to the resort in the future.

Had a 7.15 am flight so this was a great choice for convenience - walked over to the airport terminal in around 7 or 8 minutes. Ground floor room was helpful for that as well. Pool and bar area really nice but nothing fantastic. Restaurant nice too. Room clean and nice as was bathroom but nothing fantastic. Pretty basic really so not sure why I paid $279 for one night. As I have said in other reviews regarding our trip to Darwin and Kakadu for that sort of money I would be in a 5 star suite in Bali. No wonder Aussies don't want to travel in their own country!!

Thanks for taking the time to review your recent stay at the property. Our Guest reviews play an important role in helping us to provide a convenient and friendly level of guest service.
I appreciate that it can seem expensive for most services in Darwin at this time of the year but we are right in the main high season for the region. June,July and August are the peak travel months in Darwin and have the major events during this period so prices for services like airfares and accommodation are at a premium. The weather is also the most settled at this time.
Certainly outside of these months if you can look to vary your travel there are more competitive rates and specials but you need to remember that in the wet season access to some locations is restricted and the weather is less settled in December to February but otherwise it is just as good a time to visit the region. Websites on NT or Darwin can provide a lot more detail on the best times to come and what to see and do.
Thanks again for your patronage and helpful feedback after your recent stay.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. As a general convenient hotel that is so close to the airport you can walk it, it fills all the requirements. The property and rooms are generally clean, rooms are practical. It would dissapoint if you wanted anything above a 3 star class as it's in need of a major refurbishment although from what I seen maintenance is good.
Rooms have good showers (if you use the shampoo in the tube be sure to open it before you get in the shower as it's impossible to get through the silver seal without a sharp object), about 12 TV channels, fridge (no mini bar) and while the beds are not the most comfortable in the world, will do for a stop-over. There is no room service, but you can order at the bar before 9.30pm and take a tray to your room yourself.
The garden, pool and surrounds are pleasent but I wouldn't take my family there for more than a couple of days. The pool area and reception reminds me of a Bali hotel.
The staff are very good.
I'd stay there again, especcially compared to the price of other hotels in Darwin but not in a standard room in what they call Blocks.
There's nothing really wrong with this hotel if you look at it as a 3 Star, but nothing stands out either.

Room Tip: Go for the Business Suites. THey are standalone 'huts'

Thank you for taking the time to provide a review of your recent stay at the resort. Our guest feedback is helpful in ensuring we provide a consistent and friendly level of guest service at all times.
You have provided some helpful hints for the benefit of future guests. The resort is rated independantly each year in February by AAA Tourism and in February 2013 was rated a 4 star property.
The Guest rooms do not have a mini bar in the room but both the resort and the Hotel have a Lobby shop where you can buy competitively priced snacks and drinks and general items to enjoy during your stay.
Our Room Service offering is slightly different from the normal due to the properties layout. You can order meals from your room and then we call you to collect when ready. This provides an opportunity to then take it back to your room or dine around the pool or on the decking giving many great areas to enjoy the meal.
THe Resort Television service will move from 16 channels to 35 channels with 17 Free to Air and 15 Foxtel Channels on an upgraded digital platform as Darwin moves to Digital Television cutover in July.
Thanks again for your valuable feedback and for choosing to stay with us when you were in Darwin.

At $300 a night this represented the most costly room I have ever stayed in anywhere in Australia. This was for a "basic room" that could not be described more accurately. The room was pitch black on arrival, with heavy drapes organized in such a way as never to be opened, a cheap motel style bathroom, with open shower in the corner of the bathroom that tended to soak the whole floor by the time you finished a quick shower. The hotel had added a commode/shower type of plastic chair to the corner of the room, perhaps in a bid to appeal to the nursing home demographic, or to add some bling to go with the plastic shower curtain. The room was also located right at the busy end of the complex, so I got to enjoy the continuous stream of thonged foot traffic at all hours, accompanied by the meaningful, moderate discussions that a few beers tend to inspire.
I have stayed in $100 a night motel rooms that were much better, in other cities. Perhaps that right there is the issue. If you're heading north go to Cairns instead: good hotels at half the price and so much more to offer. Other hang-ups include a room-service that doesn't actually deliver to the room and no wifi in rooms. 1980s facilities, 2030s prices.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else. Not just to stay, I mean to visit generally !

Thank you for the feedback in relation to your recent stay. I apologise for the inconvenience in relation to your stay in a disabled access room that has a walk in shower and are located closer to the main lobby building due to access and would probably have greater movement past the room than most other rooms.
June is part of the peak high season period in Darwin and rates are set dynamically in line with supply and demand. In the high season room rates do increase during the week as demand is very high and alternatively the weeekend periods are usually when you can secure better market rates. The peak conferencing month for large conferences is in June and July as well which puts further pressure on rooms available.
Should you be travelling to Darwin again in the future please do not hestate to contact me as I would like the opportunity to make amends. Thanks again for taking the time to provide this valuable feedback.

Thankfully my stay was paid for by my work, as if it were my own $, I'd have been quite crankier.

I was booked into a "business Suite" which also looked like it hadn't had a refurb since the 80's. (think floral bedspreds) to discover there is no wifi in ANY of the rooms, only an ADSL cable port. Bad luck if you have a new laptop or ipad.

I looked in my room for the big blue cable as I had about 5 hours worth of work to do and couldnt find the cable. I rang reception thinking I might need to go get one to be told "we dont have any" I explained I was in a business suite and intended to do a solid 5 hours of work (this was around 9 p.m.) and was told "yeah sorry you can come sit in the lobby and use the free wifi in the lobby"

The lobby is outdoor open-plan under a pavillion style roof...and it was raining....Wasn't particularly happy about sitting in a rainy lobby until the wee hours of the morning doing emails.

Business Suite...ha! BYO your own ADSL cable if you need internet!

Rooms we're very tired, the air conditioning rattled and dripped water on the floor.

If it wasnt so close to the airport and obviously convenient for those fly-in fly-out I'd think most people wouldnt bother with it.

Thanks for the feedback in regard to your recent stay. I apologise for the inconvenience caused by the internet in your guest room. We currently get our internet via asdl as this is the only option available in the airport area in which the properties are located.
Within the next few months we will be having an upgrade to the internet for the properties which will include faster data delivery and wi fi available throughout the property. The IT upgrade will be extensive and we are working with the IT company into a time that they can install the larger bandwidth into the property and establish the wi fi throughout the resort.
We do offer free wi fi internet in the Resort lobby for use by guests that have ipads etc as a solution in the meantime. Thanks again for the feedback and again my apologies for the inconvenience the lack of cables and asdl internet caused.
I trust we may have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future when our new Wi fi access is available.

Walking into my "business suite" last night could only be described as stepping back in time to the 1980's. The room was dark & dingy with a Queen bed and a single bed but with only enough towels for one person. The fly screen door to the minuscule balcony was lying on the ground so I refitted it for them. The cleaner must have missed it lying on the floor! The room was very small and generally was tired looking. The real bonus was the jets starting at around 6am and thundering noise was the first order of the day! Didn't have a choice as it was booked by another party. Glad I was only there for 8 hours!!

Thank you for your feedback in relation to your recent stay. Our guest feedback plays an important role is helping us to provide friendly and efficient guest services.
Please accept my apologies for the sliding screen door coming off its tracks this has since been rectified by maintenance due to a faulty roller assembly.
The Jet noise you mentioned was a training exercise for fighter pilots that only occurs every several years for a 2 week period taking off at varying times. The Top Gun training finished in early June this year.
Thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback and apologies again for the Jet noise and sliding door issues.
