If you are tired of the standard Aussie pub fare (tending towards the bland, generic and deep fried everything with chips) then definitely give Deck Bar a try. It apparently has the same owners as Nirvana (great evening venue with good menu) and therefore some of the Asian influenced dishes have made it onto this menu. Nice to be able to have a Vietnamese chicken salad (a bit lighter than the punch of the real thing in Vietnam, but a good version), Fish Tacos (unfortunately the fish is deep fried, but nice attempt otherwise), Pad Thai and Laksa etc. It does also have the usual suspects for those who like to stick to steak and chips et al.
Otherwise, its just a standard pub, friendly enough, with a nice big breezy shaded outdoors area. By the number of office workers packing it out every lunch time, they are providing a good consistent service. Live music on Sundays is a cool touch- jazzy and laid back when we were there.
