This is hands-down one of the best things to do in Darwin. The setting is beautiful and really atmospheric: as you watch the movie under the stars you can also smell the sea which is right next door, hear possums scurrying around in the trees (or even have a more up close and personal experience when they occasionally run under your legs searching for food!) and see all sizes of bats flying around the screen. Even when I, on the odd occasion, don't like the film I've come to see, it doesn't matter because it's about the experience. And if the film is good anyway, being there just makes it all the more enjoyable. The only drawback is that it closes for six months of the year, but I guess with the wet season it would be difficult to keep it going.
