The art collection, especially the contemporary stuff was a superb eclectic mix. Visually satisfying. Same could be said for the museum. Considering the overall small space available they've done a fabbo job. They should take a bow. From the outside, the building is very unprepossessing, and our expectations were low. So, a great surprise on entering. So, my only complaint is to the Minister of the Arts for not funding enough for bigger quarters. It's a travesty. But, have to say, part of my expectations being low was based on my tour around the city, and, as I judge cities upon the number of public sculptures, I feared the worst, as I'd begun to think the whole place must be a cultural black hole? Darwin NEEDS more public artworks ---- NOW!!
