“Best value attraction in Darwin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013 via mobile

Worth every cent. The operators were entertaining and down to earth. The crocs don't disappoint either. Take the camera. Boat has air con and beer. Got some cool shots of the kites (birds) too

“A must do in Darwin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

The tour was well organised, worth the price, enjoyable and entertaining. A few minutes into the cruise we saw our first crocodile. They dangle pork chops on a line from the second story of the boat and you can view from either this level or the water level with wall to wall windows. The crocs jump into the air and you really get a sense of how awesome they are. Informative and warmly amusing commentary.

“Fantastic experience that even impressed the teenagers!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013 via mobile

We took our 3 teenaged kids on this original tour after reading about it on Trip Advisor. I don't know about the other "Spectacular" jumping crocodile tour ( very confusing to allow such similar company names? We saw the other one signposted near the free Aboriginal Turtle Dreaming lookout/centre, which we also visited on the way - well worth a stop for an overview), but this certainly WAS spectacular! We saw many many crocs, heard fascinating and funny information from our two hosts who obviously love the wildlife and environment here with a passion, and our teenagers were very enthusiastic in their enjoyment and appreciation. It's often hard to get a bit of 'old-fashioned enjoyment and excitement' from teenagers these days, but we would all fully recommend this experience to Anyone wanting to see and appreciate wildlife in their own beautiful habitat and learn a lot about these fascinating creatures! One had been in a terrible fight, lost half his head, and was able to 'shut down' blood flow to the area and create healing antibodies to repair himself - sounded like a sci-fi horror tale! Tip - try to go on the smaller boat to be closer to the water and to have a more intimate experience; we rang first to find out which tour was least booked by tourists so that we could go to that one, on their suggestion. Definitely worth it!

“Jumping Crocodiles”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

I have just returned from a two week trip to the Northern Territory where I went on numerous excursions including Kakadu, Katherine Gorge and Litchfield National Park. The absolute highlight of the trip was the Jumping Crocodiles cruise on the Adelaide River Queen. We were there in the 'off season" but were amazed at the amount of crocodiles and other wildlife that we saw. In total we saw over thirty crocodiles with many of them swimming along side the boat and jumping high into the air. One crocodle was so big that it was too large to jump and our guide lured it onto the mad bank where it was fed along side the boat within touching range of all passengers.
I did notice on an earlier review someone said they had paid $40 dollars for the cruise and did not see a croc. Be careful as there are two cruise companies operating in the same region with one charging $40 and the other which I went on charging $25 for the one hour trip. The Company charging the higher price is "Spectacular Jumping Crocodile Cruise" whereas the one to which my review refers is the original "Adelaide River Queen Cruise Jumping Crocodiles".
My thanks also go to Rod who was our guide on our cruise. He was most informative explaining everything about crocodiles and their behaviour as well as talking about the native bird life and aboriginal culture in the area. The money charged for my cruise represented the best value for any attraction in the top end.
