“Disappointing experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

The Chasm is beautiful but the staff and the kiosk leave a lot to be desired. The kiosk area was llshabby and the staff very un friendly, certainly not what I would have expected

“The West MacDonnells offer many more spectacular sights, which are free to visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

Standley Chasm offers toilets, a kiosk and a small grassed picnic (and camping area). You can then pay to walk up the track to the Chasm which is a wondrous natural sight, but hardly a jewel amongst the beauty of the West MacDonnell Ranges. We paid $20 for 2 adults (our children who are under 8 were free). We stayed in the ranges and didn't have time to visit several other sights, I think Standley Chasm could easily be 'skipped'.

“Heart Stopper”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

The kiosk was informative and the shop is nice as well. It's the chasm you want to see. Make sure you go at noon. There will no shadows in the chasm at that time. Make sure you wear good shoes. The track to the chasm is rugged. Flip flops or sandals could wreck your ankles.

“worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

well done to the team here, the staff were friendly, the place (and toilets) were very clean, and the track to the Chasm was surprisngly kept relatively "natural" ... in the day and age of ropes, pathways and liability chasing precautions, it was nice for the "easy" track to involve a jump or two over a creek or some rocks ... my 5 month pregnant wife, and 18 month old daughter even managed it ok

“Don't waste your money!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

We went to the Chasm after seeing Simpsons Gap and felt ripped off. You pay over $ 33 (3adults and 2 kids) to walk in for 20 mins to see the Chasm. But there was only stagnant water ( no sign saying this at start) and chasm not much different to Simsons Gap or other marvelous places in McDonnell ranges you can see for free. The cafe is dirty and the whole experience was poor.
