Alice Lodge is a great little backpackers to stay with. Whether it be for a short stay to go to and from a 3Day Uluru tour or a 2 week stay in Alice Springs like I did.
Alice Lodge is not too big like other backpacker accommodation, so it's quiet and never too loud. Because of it's size, it's nice to know the staff members know your name so they become your friend to talk to and get along nicely throughout your trip. PJ and the rest of his crew are always very friendly, good to have a laugh with and are there to help you out with tours and local information.
Alice Lodge is only a short walk into town where the Mall and Supermarkets are. And is never to far away from the major tourist attractions within Alice Springs. Alice Lodge offers a free shuttle service to the Kangaroo Sanctuary for Orphaned Kangaroos which is a great trip to go on, you learn about the kangaroos and also get the chance to feed and hold a baby kangaroo.
The facilities here at Alice Lodge are no less than fantastic! Alice Lodge offers:
* Free Internet
* Free Breakfast
* TV Room with Free DVD and Video usage
* Free BBQ usage
* Large Pool with Deckchairs and Hammocks
* Wheelbarrow Fire Pit that can be lit upon request
* Laundry Facilities
* Fully Equipped Kitchen (the cleanest I've ever seen while backpacking)
* Free Luggage Storage for when you want to go on tour
* Free Shuttle Pick-Up's from the Airport, Train Station and Bus Station
* Low fee for Shuttle Drop-Offs for all forms of Departures from Alice Springs
* AND MUCH MUCH MORE
I was in a 6 bed female dorm for my 2 week stay and personally I thought the amount of people in the room was fine, cause really the only thing you use your room for is sleeping. But I did find that is was more than cramped once you had 6 people's worth of luggage in there as well. Bags were at the end of bunk bed aisles and bags in corners blocking the exit. If you had a bottom bunk it was great cause you could utilise the space underneath, I just pity the people on the top bunks who I saw on more than one occasion share their bed with a bag or two because there was no where else to put it.
This was the only negative thing I could say about staying at Alice Lodge backpackers and even then it would not stop me from staying in this room again. I'm only speaking about the one room I was in. I saw many of the other rooms and they were perfect in size to cater for all people and their luggage =)
The security of the place was great, I could not have felt safer. Everyone is given their own room key which is accompanied with a personal locker key. From certain times of the evening the front fence is locked and the only way in or out is by entering an electronic key code.
I loved the place so much that if and when I go back to Alice Springs I would not even consider going anywhere else but Alice Lodge Backpackers.
Well done PJ =)
I would recommend either room 10 or 11. My 2 week stay was in room 10 and it was very quiet and priv...
