We were very pleasantly surprised by this hotel..especially after reading some of the other reviews for it on 'TripAdvisor'.
Our room was large, clean and very comfortable. It certainly didn't need redecorating..maybe it has just been 'done up'?
The outdoor swimming pool and surrounding area were very nice..and the pool was heated which made a very pleasant surprise!
The hotel's own restaurant (strangely called 'Balloons') was totally lacking in atmosphere. I would estimate that 90% of dinner guests dined at the Thai restaurant which is run as a concession within the hotel. It was very good and deserved to get all the business!

We arrived thinking it was 4 to 5 star, got out of the car, no concierge in sight, got our own luggage out, had to look for a trolley, checked in and then was told that we had to park our own car at the back of the hotel closer to our room, didn't really expect this for a hotel of this level. The entrance area is nice and the pool area looks ok on the way to your room, then you get to your room, very ordinary. Considering we asked our Travel Agent we wanted to stay at the best place in Alice, is this the best they have?? The room looked very tired and badly needed renovating. The best part was definitely the Thai restaurant. Two nights was long enough in Alice, luckily we had a car and the gorges etc out of Alice were fantastic, made it all worthwhile staying there.

we checked into the hotel fine but it all went down hill when we got into the room. i was very let down by the quality of the room, it was like a 1970's airport hotel, very drab and in need of refurbishment. i complained and we were moved to another room. the first thing to greet me was a large spiders web across the bathroom door which i walked through. there was a lot of spiders webs in the room and to be honest it felt as thought the room hadn't been used in a while. there were a lot of other issues and in the end we checked out after the offer of a 3rd room. went to another resort in Alice Springs which we were very happy with.

We stayed 3 nights here. Too much time in Alice but the hotel is fine. Get a room that looks onto the pool. The facilities are OK. 10-15 M pool, modest health club and one of the two restaurants is excellent (Thai). Their standard room is fair, not large, but relatively new. They have a guest laundry room. The one mile distance to town center is too far to walk in the heat so plan on using taxis. They were nice about storing our bags while we hiked in the desert. Clientele include young & old, and tour groups. A fairly active OK mix.
