“Magnificent Photographic Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

If you enjoy photography the Trail is a dream. Even so the landscape is so unusual that you could not fail to enjoy it. Most attractions are easily accessible by car, at least the best ones. Some are 4WD only but they are not as good as the others.

“Trek Larapinta”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

Our 9day trek with Trek Larapinta was over too soon. Our guides' were knowledgeable and their enthusiasm to share their love of the region was infectious. We enjoyed amazing meals cooked for us on the open fire and in the camp oven. The swags were surprisingly comfortable and our permanent campsite offered the luxury of Balinese style bathing and composting loos. The walking was harder than I'd expected but not unreasonable and the views were worth the effort. The track is rocky and deserves its reputation for being hard on footwear and tiring on feet. Essentials on my packing list for next time - walking poles for the steep descents, gaiters for the spinifex and uggs for round camp. Larapinta got under my skin like the spinifex and grass seeds - sharp and spiky irritants impossible to avoid and equally impossible to remove. The colours filled my senses - the brilliant blue skies and the deep red rock. I want everyone to have this experience and Trek Larapinta puts it within everyone's reach.

“A magnificent experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

We have just spend 2 weeks walking part of the trail and had a wonderful time. Hard walking in parts, but so well worth it. Incredible scenery, with lots of wildflowers in bloom. We had sunny and occasionally hot days every day. The trail is very well-built and maintained. I'm looking forward to going back and walking the rest of it .... some day!

“Trek Larapinta - 6 day guided tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

The Larapinta Trail is one of the most spectacular scenic bushwalks in the Australian Outback and is a must do for anyone wishing to experience some of the true beauty of Central Australia.

The 6 day tour offered by Trek Larapinta explored the western sections of the Larapinta Trail and constantly spoiled us with spectacular views of the ancient landscape, made even more special by the in depth geological and cultural knowledge passed on to us by our guides. Back at camp each night we sat back and enjoyed the beauty of the natural surroundings while delicious dinners were prepared for us each night – the lamb roast dinner was a highlight but everything was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

I would recommend the Trek Larapinta group to everyone – they provide a quality and friendly service and take great pleasure in being able to share this unique environment with others.

Hello Nicole,
Thank you for taking the time to review your 6 day hike with Trek Larapinta. As you highlighted our guides enthusiasm, knowledge and cooking skills play a huge part in making this such an awesome experience. Having a comfy chair and a welcoming camp fire to return home to each day is rather special too...I will make sure to pass on your kind words (especially to Holger:).
Thank you for being part of the Trek Larapinta journey.
Kind regards

“The desert does not look like a desert!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

The desert does not look like a desert once you get to see it on foot. A great way to explore the views and rock formations of the arid landscape. To do the whole track may look a bit daunting, but it is possible to do a few sections that are accessible by vehicle. For example the first section is quite easy and can be achieved in a day’s walk. Either starting from Simpson Gap or half way from Wallaby Gap back to the historic Telegraph Station north of Alice Springs. The Wallaby Gap access requires a key to a locked gate, which is available at the AS Visitors Centre next to the library.
Another rewarding section which can be rather demanding is the last one. It climbs up Mount Sonder from Redbank Gorge and is easily accessible by a vehicle. The views are superb.
