I found the history of this place most interesting and learnt something I did not know before. The historical buildings and site of the original spring was well worth a visit.

“Thank goodness this has been preserved”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2014

What a lovely place to wander and learn something of the history of the area. The beautiful buildings have been saved and give a great understanding of the lives of the telegraph masters and families. A good collection of old machinery and communication equipment is on show too.

Interesting exhibition detailing life for the first European settlers. Good insight into the lifestyle and equipment used back then.

“Not to be missed! History, walks, scenery, food! Picnic areas!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2014

We loved every aspect of this beautifully presented exhibition featuring an amazing part of Australian history. The telegraph station built in late 1800's has been restored, furnished in period furniture, fittings and interesting information. The surrounding walks give opportunity to ooh and aah at the red rock formations, desert flowers and grasses and picturesque river side with its beautiful river gums. Birds are in abundance. After the walk, great coffee and lunch! Just a great day out and only a short drive from the town of Alice

“very interesting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2014

The restoration of this historic sight is great. There are many items on display with very interesting descriptions of what life was like in the early days. I am glad that I did not have to endure the hardships that our pioneers had to put up with.
