We were lucky and managed to get an early evening table on a Sunday without a prior booking. The food was superb - sophisticated and beautifully presented. We started with the freshest oysters I've tasted in ages and then had the goat's cheese and balsamic onion tartlet and the duck parfait with sourdough. Both dishes were superb. We chose the lamb rump for our main course and shared a creme brulee for our dessert. It was food of the highest quality. We liked the touch with the sparkling water - one charge per person for unlimited refills throughout the meal and our glasses were never empty. Our waitress was friendly and helpful with the menu and the wine list. It wasn't a problem to taste a wine before ordering. The tables outside are interesting as they are long and narrow so you sit next to complete strangers but it works well if the people next to you are friendly. We struck lucky and had a great time with the folks next to us. It added to our overall enjoyment of the evening. What a wonderful restaurant.
