“Good ambience, location and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

Wonderful ambience - classy but laid back. Mix of seriously fashionable to seriously casually dressed - all accepted. The live music that was there on one of my visits was perfect for the place - cool, laid back and unobtrusive.

“A venue to die for”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

You won’t find a cruise ship spoiling your view, which has got to be one of the best in Sydney. On a fine day, try to get a table on the balcony. The service was attentive and helpful; the food, good; and the wine, not ‘too’ expensive. The dining area is open, so I wouldn’t go for a ‘romantic’ evening, but I would go - again, and again.

“Magnificent View”

The food was great with beautiful views of Sydney Harbour. Do book a few weeks ahead as it is very busy.

“Excellent for Sunday lunch; skip dessert”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

Second dining visit to Cafe Sydney; I shared the seafood grill (a Sunday special) with a friend and we also opted for the dessert plate to share. The grill arrives as a main - a minor nuisance while the other diners had entrees - but was delicious. Aside from the pear tart, the dessert plate was a disappointment.

“Always Delivers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

Pricey but worth it. I live in Sydney and have the benefit of a view from my apartment, yet every time we have visitors from overseas Cafe Sydney never fails to impress. Food is always delicious. Not too haute cuisine, though certainly a varied choice to suit all palates. The experience is certainly worth saving up for, and the little details, like blankets in the cooler months, and caps and sunscreen in the warmer ones make it a afternoon/evening to remember. Go. Book early. You won't regret it!
