Guillaume at Bennelong is with no doubt the "Best" French style of Restaurant (Food). With its unique location (within the Sydney Opera House) and with fantastic Sydney Harbour views alone makes it worthwhile visiting.
Of course the Food with its classical "Frebch flavours" is balancing out (completing) the whole experience. For 150$ you can choose 4 courses from a pre-set (table d'hote) menu and for 195$ you can get matching wines with each selected course. The selection of cold and warm Appetizers, Main courses and Desserts is very well balanced, seasonal, texture, flavours, colours and taste. The highlight in our meal was defenitely the Main Course (Rouget and Beef). These dishes were cooked to perfection. As an appetizer I had a Royale (cold pea puree with speck, croutons and truffle). Flavours and texture were great but the Truffles did not come through. I suggest that this dish should be served warm! As second Appetizers I had the Pine Mushrooms (from the Blue Mountains) served with an "ouef mollet", gnocchi, tomato and slasa verde. Great flavours and textures. As Dessert I had the Passionfruit Souffle whichg was flawless.
Service was very good, although after the main course they served us "Mixed Salad Leaves"!? Mostlikely a mix up with the table(s). Otherwise a perfect night.
