“SUPERB SEAFOOD”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

We had the bugs (removed alive from the tank, humanely despatched and perfectly cooked) and the prawn dumplings as entrees, followed by their signature dish of king prawn omelette and a fish curry. Desert was a custard tart (shared) which was so good we almost ordered another. Service was excellent, wine list and advice perfect. The sole dissatisfier was the cramped space and balancing on tall chairs. I'd happily eat here twice a week for months on end.

“Home to eat toast”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013

Not a good sign after dining in a restaurant to drive straight home to eat. Dined with my brother who had recently returned from holidaying in Europe - thought a fine meal in Sydney would assist re-entry. Alas, Fish Face - cramped, noisy, over-priced - did not satisfy. Underwhelmed. Don't bother.

“Sea Food, Very Fresh and Over-priced but Very Tasty”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

Two of us had well prepared and tasty fish dishes - one each, a glass of wine each, and paid $105,00 (Australian) !!! The service was a bit shoddy and we sat cramped up at the bar. The maitre'd/manager was genial and helpful, reminding himself that he had not told me my Kingfish was normally served only lightly seared - not my thing - so he whisked it back onto the grill. I must say the Fish&Chips was delicious - I shared some of my partner's while my dish was away. The portions were a bit on the mean side but I cant remember when I have had such fresh tasting fish.

“Great Fish and even greater prices.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

I have been a regular visitor to this restaurant for many years, and think that they probably serve the best seafood in Sydney.
The problem is that the prices just keep going up and up.
This is a very small, restaurant where you sit on high chairs and are squeezed in to a tiny room, so it is not a place for an "occasion Dinner" but the prices are what you would pay for a much more pleasant atmosphere.
There is no doubt that the food is great, but $10.90 for a small bowl of chips and almost $13 for a bottle of mineral water is right up there in terms of price.
I will not be visiting this restaurant so frequently in the future

“Great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Went in on a sunday night had an amazing trout in filo pastry dish. Service casual and friendly not really expensive compared to other places in Sydney with food as good as this. Would go again i really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere.
