If you're in Darling Harbour & need some Indian, try this place out. Authentic food with a brilliant view of the Sydney skyline.

“A lovely evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

The setting of this restaurant overlooking Darling Harbour is fantastic. Get an outside table if you can. The food was excellent! Great to find an Indian restaurant that has some variety. The paneer stuffed mushrooms for our entree was the highlight, the seasonal fish curry was also deliciious as were the lamb cutlets. For dessert I had the Toblerone Pyramid - really good. The service was professional and friendly and helped to give the feeling of a special night out.

“never to go back”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

I recently tried to go to Zaaffran for a meal with my family of 6. We arrived at 5:30 and then they said that the restaurant opens at 6:00pm , so we waited half an hour for the table. I love my Indian food when I walked back in, the man was quite rude and told me there was a 5 dollar service charge per person , I said no problem but can we have a table on the balcony please. The owner/manager replied 'we have a seventy people booking at 7.30pm' so i said that i would give him the table back by 7pm but he refused to give us the table therefore i walked out and he lost 200 dollars worth of business. We went to the Thai restaurant next door and we finished our meal at 7pm !!! We watched his restaurant during that time and he turned many tables away during that time. we finished our meal and the tables were still empty as we walked past to go home. Bad, bad business sense in my opinion. How can you turn people away from your restaurant when empty and keep it empty for an hour and a half because you have a reservation.
Would never visit this restaurant again due to the terrible attitude of the manager/owner

“Exciting Indian cuisine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

This is a very fine Indian restaurant, with a varied range of well-prepared dishes, each with a well-defined taste. One entrance is in a shopping mall, but don't be put off. The other side opens onto the waterfront on Darling Harbour and is lovely. My lamb cutlets were particularly memorable and the staff were very good in helping us explore the menu. Tip: spend some time looking at the menu on line, so you don't miss a dish you would love. Good range of Australian wine too. Not to be missed.
