“Perfect CBD Lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

We've been going to Kansai for years and it always delivers excellent food and service.

The menu is wide and varied and has a great range of traditional and contemporary Japanese dishes.

The Bento Boxes are filled with a great selection of tasty food, and the Sashimi platters are excellent.

Service is always very friendly and personable.

“Great value - unlimited sashimi and other dishes for $39!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013 via mobile

Great value indeed - nothing to complain. All you can eat sashimi for $39!

My tips:
1. Better make a reservation.
2. You'll get better food and service if you can go earlier before the crowd arrive.
3. Order the sashimi boat if you like raw fish - definitely get your value!
4. Don't try to give complicated instructions to the waiting staffs or ask too many questions regarding ingredients - most of them only understand simple English.

“Personal attention!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

We had a few dietary considerations, gluten & lactose intolerant, so we emailed in advance and were responded to straight away. There were menu options for this and the owner was very helpful.
Also, on leaving late at night we found that the escalator we had depended upon for access for an elderly member of our party was shut down, but the owner personally escorted us on the freight elevator. Very impressive.
The food was very good, and we found the 'all that you can eat' deal more than satisfying and very reasonably priced.
The décor seemed a little 'food hall' - but after the initial shock the atmosphere was actually fun and intimate. They were full on a Thursday night and all patrons seemed happy and having a good time.
All in all, a good find that I'd be happy to re-visit.

“Buffet - All you can eat menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2012

Around $30 you can choose all you can eat sushi for dinner. You can also meat dishes such as teriyaki chicken. They also have more premium option if you want unlimited sashimi on top of the sushi.

the sushi are freshly made to order.

Best to book if it's for weekend as it is a small place.

close to Wynyard station.

“Quality food at a good price !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

We ate here on a Saturday evening...although it was very busy we got served quickly and the food was great. The sashimi was fresh and tasty, the soft shell crab salad was delicious. It is not the place for a romantic quiet meal but we enjoyed the buzz of the place and it was certainly very good value. Would eat here again !!! Only one thing....ask for your dishes to be staggered otherwise they all arrive at once.
