We had been given advice to go to the Surry Hills (no 'e' in Surry) area for good restaurants. Our Concierge at the Amora Hotel advised us to go to Fish at the Rocks instead which we did. Great piece of advice as we had one of the best fish meals of our lives and as BIG foodies, my hobby is cooking, we have become extremely particular with restaurant food. We left the country the following day and returned a week later where we visited the restaurant again two nights running, it's that good. If you get there and finish before 19:45 you can have a starter, main course and a glass of wine for Aus$45 from the 'Earlybird Menu' which for the quality of food, great service and ambiance is very good value for money. We particularly recommend the baked John Dorey and also the baked Snapper. The glass of house Sauvignon Blanc is extremely good quality too. Would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant if you like fish.
