I have been here a few times and was adrift and alone on a Wednesday night and was warmly welcomed here and give a dining seat at the bar-which was lucky as I had no reservation. The staff were terrific the manager world class good- being gently on top of everything in some detail.
This is the kind of place that you might find in Manhattan's Upper Sixties or in the better parts of Georgetown or any generally upscale neighborhood . The food is very high quality and imaginative without being experimental with a limited menu-which guarantees good quality on all things.
Service is prompt, the food hot-the sides generous -the wine list more interesting than most and I would be very surprised if I didn't always get a great meal here. Its not cheap, nor grossly expensive but its high end and we are talking about Sydney but its good value here. Make sure you book and they have some nice outside tables.
The Wednesday night crowd was mature -with quite a few grey hairs about but at other times all ages seem to be here enjoying a happy unrushed evening of merry dining.
In short a great community restaurant worth leaving central Sydney to find.
