“I felt like I was back in Sichuan :D”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

It was 10 years ago when I last ate Sichuan food, at it's source in china, but as soon as I took the first bite I was immediately transported back there.
It was so so exciting to eat here and experience once again, the authentic, fun and vivid flavours of 'ma' and 'la'. I loved it!
I would caution those who have a conservative palate and people who are not patient with a menu and service specifically catered towards the Chinese population. The menu is organised on an IPad and there is limited english. Despite this, it is fairly intuitive to navigate and the waitstaff gave decent assistance in choosing dishes.
Definitely try the stir fried potato slivers!!! But everything on the menu is sure to be tasty and authentic. The price is reasonable too.
These guys know what they're doing. Give it a go if you are adventurous and want quality and authenticity.

“Wow”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

Nestled along Glebe Point Rd next to Red Chilli Sichuan Hotpot (yes there's 2 literally next to each other), this branch offers the real deal. As the name suggests, expect fiery sichuan dishes and they do hold back on flavours. Nothing fancy or fusion here, just simple traditional meals the way the locals like it, not for the faint hearted. Sour Vegetable Soup or Fried Chilli Chicken are a must try, or raw beef tripe for the more adventurous.

“Not your usual "western" chinese restaurant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2012

We visited this restaurant in the location at Cunningham Street (just off Goulbourn). The downstairs HotPot restaurant was packed, but we were after something less adventurous so we dined upstairs. Well, the menu features lots of offal, blood and bits of animals that we just wouldn't eat. The two dishes we did order were both very nice. The service was attentive, and it was a pleasant dining experience.

“Great food - but look, there are actually 2 restaurants”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

This restaurant was in an alley around the corner from our apartment. When we walked in, the ground floor restaurant was full with all asians (always a good sign). You could see it was hot pot style. We were told it would be about 30 minutes but were sent to the 1st floor (up the stairs) to their more traditional dining room. We shared 4 dishes that were all excellent. We like spicy and the lamb ribs were incredible as was the eggplant dish. The service was fair but the food more than made up for it.

I have to think that the other reviewers never went upstairs.
