“Don't want to be a harsh critique but really, I didn't feel any value for money..”
Went to Sea Treasure for Yum-Cha. I knew this was on the "expensive" side for a Chinese restaurant... so I thought I was prepared. I also somehow thought their food was great : hence I would get the value for money (you get what you pay for, yes?). I was proven wrong.
I am very sorry to say the value for money was what was missing.
We ordered 4 dishes (including one dessert), and tea for 2, and the bill was $31. A plate of 4 prawn dumplings (har gow) - it was $7.50. It is just so very over-priced... I would have been happy to pay $5.50~$6.00, maybe, but not $7.50... Were they yummy?? yes, but not a "wow". (it's hard to go "wow" in yum cha, anyway). And the staff members,,, mmmm, some of junior staff members were attentive and friendly but the senior staff members - managers - were very business-like, and saying something like we didn't spend much ($31 is a "cheap" bill!!) or something like that in Chinese. I am not Chinese but I actually understand Mandarin and Cantonese....so I do pick up these things without them (Chinese people) knowing...(I only speak English to them).
So, overall, sorry, it will be a LONG time and take huge convincing before I return to this restaurant...
