Description: Located within the Grace Hotel complex on the corner of King & York Streets P.J.O'Brien's offers a taste of Ireland in the heart of the CBD. The warm glow of the open fire and traditional Irish music drowning out the hustle and bustle of city life. As daylight fades the 'craic' begins, settle in with a creamy pint of Guinness or one of our many beers, wines and spirits. Our kitchen offers a variety of savoury Irish dishes, pizza and contemporary pub meals. Let the friendly staff at P.J.O'Brien's make your day or night an occasion to remember, come in, kick back and discover the 'craic' that P.J.O'Brien's is famous for

“Lively but extremely noisey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

Great food well served in this Irish themed bar under the Grace hotel. Multi screens showing a variety of sports plus the hard surfaces made for a very noisey atmosphere which made conversation almost impossible. However, if you wanted a quick meal and catch up on the footy then this was a great place to go.

“Plentiful and cheap”

Had shepherds pie and still piping hot until the very end. Hubby had steak and was cooked perfectly.

“Inflexible staff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

This restaurant is associated with the Grace Hotel, which is above it and my corporate hotel booking included meals, which included PJ O'Brien's. So far so good.

I mentioned to the waitress that I was eating with a colleague who was also on the same plan, so could we have our meals charged to our respective rooms? We were told that they could not split bills and that was the end of the matter.

My colleague was pleased with his rump steak and I chose the Irish chicken curry. The latter is a very mild curry on chips and rice. It could not be confused with any curry you might get in Asia - in case you made that assumption.

There was nothing memorable about this restaurant for me and I am not likely to return.

“Very comfortable downstairs area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

We went each afternoon to PJ's to relax after a hard days shopping. Beer prices are reasonable 7.50 for a Heinekin and the atmosphere is great between 4 to 6 when we were there. No table service downstairs but the bar is close. Television screens are on and good to catch up on the days games. Overall a really great place to unwind for a couple of hours. Needs a little work on the seating on the booths as wow lumpy is an understatement. But very centrally located if you at staying at h Grace Hotel as the pub is within the complex no getting lost back to your room.
