I had been to this restaurant for a business lunch a few years back, and had totally forgotten about it until last week. On this particular night I had a craving for Italian food and made the journey across town to Norton Street, which is well know for its Italian restaurants. I had come off the City West Link, saw the small sign and said ... "Hold on, I know this place. It is so much better than it looks from the street. Let's give it a go." ... and we did.
Absolutely no regrets. To me, this is one of the best Italian restaurants in Norton Street. And that is a big call. What I like most is that it is hidden away, it is spacious, the staff are very friendly and efficient, and the food ... sublime. My favourites are the meat dishes, but there are the usual seafood, pastas and wood fired pizza too. All washed down with a great Italian Pinot Gris. I would have had dessert, but ran out of time.
This restaurant is located on the quiet end of Norton Street, Leichhardt - just off the City West Link. It is hidden away in a small mall with Amato's Liquor Mart. Don't judge a book by its cover, once inside you will be smiling all the way to the coffee after dessert.
The crowd is well dressed, probably locals. Quite a few families, which I think this place suits. You, the kids and the grandparents will all find something they like on the menu.
