“Spotlessly Clean and Quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

We needed an average priced hotel before and after going on a cruise to Vanuatu and New Caledonia and only wanted to pay around $150 to $180 for accommodation. (You can probably pay cheaper by looking at Hotel sites.) So the Leisure Inn fitted the bill well.

The rooms we had were spotlessly clean with quite attractive decor containing a double bed, large desk, chair, plasma TV and bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin. There was a lift to the levels. A luggage room, laundry room with toilet and reception desk were on the ground floor. We found the reception staff very helpful in giving us directions.

The hotel is in Regent Street which is one way. There's a small supermarket one shop down. It's just a short walk down to busy George Street or going the other way a 10 minute walk to the Central Railway station where the Hop on Hop off Bus leaves from - $40 for adults $30 for Seniors. You can also use the same ticket for either the City sights or Bondi Beach trip. Or just walk down to George Street and catch a bus into the CBD. There's loads of eating places around.

A shuttle from the International Airport is $15 per person. All in all we had 2 good nights at the Leisure Inn. There was little noise, the bed was comfortable and everything was clean and neat. Thumbs up leisure Inn.

May be we happened to be at a peak period, for the price was rather high for a very basic room ergo, rather poor value for money. The saving grace is its location. We probably will come again. The room next door is right opposite a very noisy plant room (especially in the silence of the night).

The Leisure Inn is an ideal place to base yourself when in Sydney - very close to Central Station but without the noise & around the corner from a major bus terminal, again without the noise! Can catch the free bus into Sydney & get into the main CBD very easily. Clean room & attentive staff. Good basic accommodation, clean & updated room. If you don't need frills then this will suit you just fine.

This hotel is not value for money. Overpriced, beds need upgrading, and you could hear all the water running through the pipes at all hours. Family suite is mis-titled and is just a room with beds. We wouldn't stay here again.

Good Location, clean and well priced. The booking in was a bit painful but all in all value for money.

The location is close to transport, pubs and cafes, it was easy to find.

The rooms are very clean and well maintained, with a good deal of space for an inner city hotel.

Charging $2 per bag to hold your luggage a few hours the day you check out, is a bit small minded.

The payment method is a bit inflexible, being forced to pay with the card used to guarantee the room, there was no option to use another cards or cash, despite the information package saying this option is available.

My room was tiny with 2 single beds. Room so narrow they had beds head to head not side by side. Room was clean. Bed felt cheap and soft.

Reception closes at night. This proved to be a pain because one of our group had their key card malfunction. There was a number for locksmith in lobby but no number for hotel to assist. Ran into a family whose flight arrived late so they were stranded in lobby with exhausted kids and no rooms... plus no help from empty reception.

This place even charges $2 per bag to hold them after you check out. Very ungrateful hosts.

I got stuck paying $150. This was not value for money. Will not stay again. Worth $90 per night max.

Greatly enjoyed our three night stay here last week. The location is beyond perfect, just a 5 minute walk to Central Station, close to Chinatown (the most delicious and cheap dinners here) and plenty of well-priced pubs around too. Hotel was well-priced, and clean and comfortable. Be aware if you are staying here that it is a 'true' hotel room (so no kitchen amenities), but does have a mini fridge :) No outside noise at all, but we did find that we could hear everyone in the corridor, as well as the people in the room next to us and above us, though not often enough to be a detractor. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel for short stays.
