Owner description: Circular Quay is a colorful port where ferries and cruise ships board and depart, and boat watching can be as good a pastime as people watching. While street performers entertain outside, those wanting a more cultural experience can head into the Museum of Contemporary Art where a sculpture garden on the roof is as much a view as the waterways below.

“Very busy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

It is so much fun to watch the movements of countless boats sailing in and out of the quay, even the large cruise ships. You'll be hard pressed to find a busier Harbour than that in Sydney. Around the quay there are all sorts of activities to keep one busy for a long time.

“the best place to hang out in Sydney”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

it is seriously very entertaining for tourists and locals, there are a lot of street artists that will keep you entertained all day, it's by the water, and the centre of all Ferries. Opera house is couple of minutes away, faced by the Harbour Bridge and the Botanoc Garden is just at the back. Plenty of things you can do there, some are for free like visiting the Art Gallery, others require some fees like touring the Opera house

“Lots to see and do”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

A busy harbour with ferries, water taxis and the occasional cruise ship arriving and leaving. Very close to lots of places worth visiting - the Opera House, The Justice and Police Museum, the Sydney Museum, Customs House, The Rocks, the Museum of Contemporary Art, The Harbour Bridge, good restaurants, etc. Try to stay in a hotel near Circular Quay to be right at the heart of things.

“Centre of Sydney”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Circular Quay is a great place to head to when you first arrive in Sydney. You can buy tickets and board Ferries to various places around Sydney harbour (or just go for a boat trip). There are some great cafes and restaurants, take away joints and lots of street entertainment (Aboriginal dancing and music, Circus acts etc.). A great place to start your sightseeing.
