“Good value for money in Sydney CBD”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

My recent stay at Mantra on Kent was exactly what I was looking for - central location, just a few minutes from Town Hall station, where I arrived after taking the airport link train into the CBD, and all the major city attractions within easy walking distance. My room which was actually a large studio type apartment on the 18th floor was great value for money and quiet too. I found the staff very helpful and accommodating and I would not hesitate to stay there again - Denise P.

My husband and I have just spent 5 nights at Mantra on Kent and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a one bedroom apartment on the 25th floor which was complete with a small kitchen with fridge, oven, cooktop and microwave oven plus all the crockery etc., required. The washing machine and dryer were very handy and we did use these during our stay - a sachet of washing powder was supplied. The decor was very nice and modern and well maintained. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows which I often find a problem when travelling. The bathroom was spotless and cleaned every morning. The towels which were soft and thick, were also replaced each morning. We found all staff to be very friendly and helpful, this not only includes reception staff but also the staff in the restaurant. We booked the buffet breakfast each morning and for $18 each it was great value and a good start to the day. The choices were many and if requiring poached or fried egg that was done on request. The muffins and various other pastries are to die for......it's hard to stick to a diet with such delights available. Many thanks to the staff for a very pleasurable stay and I would highly recommend Mantra on Kent if looking for somewhere nice to stay in Sydney which is handy for everything.

We had booked to stay here, following the good reviews on Tripadvisor, for the last night of our Australian holiday, before the (long!) flight back to the UK the following day. Reception were friendly and helpful, and booked the airport shuttle for us, which was $14 each.
Our room on the 21st floor was very spacious, with modern stylish decor, black and white with green trim, and had a view past a couple of buildings to Darling Harbour. The room had a kitchen, fridge and microwave, and to my delight, a washer and dryer in the bathroom! The bed was king size and very comfy with equally comfy pillows. We had booked the breakfast deal as well, and the breakfast was quite classy, with a good choice of everything and a (difficult to use at first!) Nespresso machine.
he Hotel is 5 miniurtes walk from Darling Harbour, and we loved Cockle Bay Wharf with its great choice of restuarants, bars and cafes.
We would not hesitate to stay here again if we visited Sydney in the future.

booked this hotel as part of a package when in Australia, the check in was quick and the girls on reception could not be more helpful, I was on my own from Scotland they gave me a map and their telephone number just in case I got lost!!

The room was a studio with fridge and kettle, The bathroom was clean and shampoo conditioner and shower gel was replaced.

The location near Darling harbour was super and I had a great trip. Thanks to all at the Mantra on Kent

We have never been to Sydney, so we had no idea what to look for. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment for ourselves and our friends. It had a mini kitchen, and washer and dryer in each room. Separate bedroom and living area. It is located near Darling Harbor. And convenient to all areas of Sydney that tourists want to see. It was neat and clean. Bathrooms were serviced daily. The staff as pleasant. We were able to check in early after our ling flight for the U.S.

We Stayed here just before the new year. My two adult children had flown in from the US and we came in from Perth. It was a 'Two bedroom apartment, but was really two one bedroom apartment that shared a common hall-space, which was really a bit better!. No views from the windows except the buildings across the street and a glimpse of Darling Harbor. Beds where good, new furnishings and modern through. Clean!
We did eat breakfast once, and it was typical of big city hotel buffet, hot and lots of it.
Location was great, two blocks from Townhall train station, two blocks from the Darling Harbor and about 1 mile to Circular Quay.
Prices during this peak season was good, around $300/night.

Room Tip: Rooms face west and north, minimal street noise higher up. good for business, family and couples. G...

My husband and I stayed at this hotel when we first arrived in Sydney after a very long flight from the U.S. We arrived around 11:00 in the morning and were thrilled to be able to check in long before the normal time. There was nothing fancy about the room but it had a mini fridge, a small cooktop, microwave, toaster, electric kettle and sink. The room had a safe which is always so nice. The unexpected bonus is that there is a washer and dryer in the bathroom! We stayed here for four nights and it was great to be able to wash a few things before we moved on to our next location. The breakfast was quite good and had some unusual offerings. Well, unusual to an American! This hotel was within easy walking distance of Darling Harbour and if you don't mind to use foot power, a pretty easy walk to Sydney Harbour. It was clean, it was blessedly cool, (we were there on the day that Sydney recorded its' highest temp ever at 115 degrees!) and it's in a great location.

Room Tip: If having a fitness room in your hotel is important, choose a different place. Although they offer...
