“Take a ferry from the harbour, then off to Bondi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

This is a very nice place that you can visit on your way to Bondi beach. A nice, relatively cheap ferry ride from the harbour, with great views. It is a very small but nice beachfront area, with a few good restaurants. Immediately across, just 5 minutes walking from the ferry arrival, you have another very nice walk along the steep coast which has great views both ways, into the ocean off the cliffs, and to Sydney at a distance.
Between the two, you can take a 20 minute bus ride to Bondi beach. Well worthwhile.

“Must go, when in Sydney”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

First of all, it is a nice boat ride over there. And once there, you have a nice view over the skyline of Sydney on one side and on the other side beautiful outlook over the steep coast to the ocean. I really enjoyed it, the weather was awesome also!

“The Very Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

We went back three times. Take the ferry. Take the easy hike to the lighthouse (anyone can tell you how). Pack sandwiches, chocs and wine. Or eat at Doyle's. They've been in business since 1800s. For a real splurge have banana pancakes at Dunbar House (they caramelize the bananas like brûlée.
Anyway, back to the bay- the view is amazing and you can spot whales.

“So close to the city and yet so far from care”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

spectacular contrast between the ruggedness of "the Gap" (A cliff face/lookout on the ocean side of this narrow suburb on a peninsula between the ocean and the harbour) contrasting with the quieter harbourside with it's gentler slopes and jetty. Enjoy the 1000s of boats bbbing in the harbour while sipping your favorite drnk at Watson's Bay hotel while watching the sunset over Sydney Harbour Bridge! A Special place worth visiting itself.
