The Park can be a wonderful place, especially through the week. But increasingly, it is becoming choked by heavy traffic. Bike-riders have been run down, or nearly so, by large vehicles two or three times, in my experience. The Park is being loved to death. It's a victim of a crowded, noisy city in which people are all getting desperate to get some peace and quiet.
The Park Management have plans to make more money out of the Park. They have a Plan being discussed at present. It's clear that they want more concerts, overnight stays, and so on. There is a risk that as time goes on, the Park will become degraded and commercialised. Best visit on quiet days, through the week. Don't visit when concerts are being prepared for or cleaned up after.
