“Pint. Burger. Music. Happy.”
Anyone who says the burgers at Mary's aren't amazing surely don't know what they're talking about. It's extremely hard to find a burger out there that is made properly, made using a mix of the right cuts of beef makes all the difference, topped with a (presumably house made) spiced pickle and the usual condiments or if you go for the Mary's burger (which I generally do) that addictive tangy sauce makes it hard for me to alter my usual order.
This is a place I'd gladly hang around in for a few pints of Young Henry's thanks to the casual atmosphere, good music and the ALWAYS friendly staff.
Having visited Mary's an unrecallable amount of times, I can say that they're quite consistent in quality and service. The only set back is the wait time if you go during peak dinner hours weekends and to an extent the rest of the week.
We tend to go early 5:00pm-6:30pm which always avoids any line up. One you have a table upstairs, you're set for as long as you want with table service by some great staff.
I believe at the moment they're quite restricted by the council to the number of people allowed inside at any one time, so they hire a bouncer during the more popular hours to keep on top of it.
I'm not the type to line up for any bar or club but I will certainly do so for good food, so if you do find yourself outside in the cue of burger enthusiasts anxiously awaiting an affirmative nod from the bouncer to head on in, just think of the deliciousness that awaits.
Oh and try the fried chicken! Better than any I've ever had before.
