We dined at Himalaya in Surry Hills yesterday at lunchtime. Following a previous favourable review, I thought that I would try the goat curry and whilst the flavour of the meat and sauce was excellent, most of dish consisted of bone and sauce. I expect a goat curry to be a bit on the bony side but surely more actual meat could have been included. Similarly, the chicken tikka entrée was very good but a bit on the small side.
My vegetarian wife had no problems with her serving sizes with two large samosas but she commented that they tasted as if they had been re-cooked however her veg. curry main was very good in both flavour and size.
We went early and were the first customers of the day so no surprises that the service was very good. The venue is rather plain and uninspiring but it was also very neat and clean and as we used a discount voucher and were byo, the overall value was outstanding.
