“Great fish and chips”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

Great local fish and chip shop. Fish can either be grilled and served with salad for a healthier option or battered. The chips are crunchy and the potato scallops are also good. They sell a nice range of fresh seafood to cook at home, and have tables outside to dine in. The staff are always friendly and I could recommend this eatery to anyone.

“Quality fish cafe”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013 via mobile

Living nearby is part of the charm but this seafood cafe has a focus on quality that is worth a travelling for. Whilst your overall bill can be expensive if you order other than blackboard specials. Regardless there is obvious and welcome focus on fresh well cooked seafood. The byo policy is very reasonable @$2 per glass and there is a bottle shop 50 meters away. This strictly laminex table footpath dining....very casual. Tip - phone to book and plan to eat around 6 or 6.30 pm as it can get busy and the kitchen often closes around 7 ish

“One taste and you will be hooked”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

This is no ordinary Greasy Joe's fish and chip shop. Sure, they sell fish and chips, but it is so fresh, and it does not have to be fried, althought that is an option ( try the beer battered fish, yum) you can also have it grilled. They also serve uncooked fish, even barramundi, for customers to cook at home. There are lobsters and oysters and many other wonderful things to buy and serve at home, or eat on the tables...which other suburban fish shop does this ? The owners are very switched-on, (people have said nothing is ever frozen) and they cater for many types of people, and serve things appropriate for certain times of the day. At the crack of dawn they start selling good coffee ( espresso, lattes, even chai latte, amongst other things)...and this continues all day ..funky little concertina windows pull back so that you dont even need to enter the shop. They even have a breakfast menu of hot foods for people wanting something substantial...I have seen tradesmen here very early in the day, probably getting some much-needed protein into their gobs before a day's work. Salads are excellent, and they are not crap from a supermarket rehashed, no, these salads are wholesome and fresh, for examply, Greek salad. The fish and chips are good, and it is fair to say, if they dropped your food on the floor, you would still be able to eat it, the place is gleamingly clean. Friendly and helpful staff, and kind-hearted too..my daughter once went missing and staff immediately put down their tools and helped me find her. Fab outdoor area, lots of tables, and you can even bring your own bottle of wine to drink whilst you enjoy wonderful seafood. I cant think of anything negative to say about this place, it really is a lucky find. iIonce phoned ahead for my fish and chip order, which was a great idea, so i did not need to wait once I arrived...it was, after all, a Friday during Lent ! You can reserve tables, and recently I saw a few tables pushed together, with a lovely linen tablecolth on top, so, someone obviously thought it was good enough to get a few friends together for a special occasion.
