“Hospitality? NO.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

Unfortunately the level of service in this establishment is lacking. The food is overhyped and the coffees quite ridiculous - I've only seen this type of approach in Japan in the 90s... Cool location, but a good atmosphere marred by the lack of decent service. Take note staff: customers don't care if you are really an actor, artist or other sort of try hard wannabe in your real life; while you are working as a waiter you are a waiter and your job is hospitality - as is the owners responsibility. Not worth the effort IMHO.

“Hipsters v Prams”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

My wife and a friend of hers, both with young babies tried to have a meal and catch-up at Reuben Hills on Albion Street, Surry Hills and were met with the rudest and discriminatory service. Smarten up Reuben Hills as there are too many cafes and places to hang out in Surry Hills that care for their customers. Poor form goes to the manager as they couldn't care less. So anyone with a pram or young child keep clear!

“Yummy hipster brunch joint”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

I was a bit skeptic because it's all very hipster and the wait can be long (20-30 mins if you go around 11, although it does depend who big a group you are). But the food is genuinely good, although the menu is fairly limited. Try the tradesman's brioche, or the egg Baleda. The baked eggs with jamon is yummy but too spicy for me. The specialist filtered coffee is a bit of a croc (e.g., "Ethiopia Yirgacheffe- Guava fruit roll-up", I find the standard barista coffee much better tasting and cheaper too! Have been back a couple of times. Service is usually average/ok except last time very disappointed by a horrible woman who was necessarily rude. Fix this up and it would be almost perfect
